    Diginet Question

Nah, no luck -- double checked video loss and system off times ... not using either and all set to 0 --- Guess I will just uninstall , heck --- I may even just re-install xp all over again ... I actually think I tried to upgrade to the newer 4.13 version from 4.11 and this somehow caused this problem when I unistalled newer and went with the 4.11 --- Newer 4.13 would not work with my Geforce 2 - 64mb card ... I may try it again before revamping though ... newer sure does have some nicer tweaks to it ... ALSO, I noticed I could set how long the system record time "DATA KEPT" will be ... Geez, that would solve this WHOLE problem ... Newer 4.13 version would load up --- it wouldn't display cameras at all though ... I am sure it was something to do with Nvidia Geforce2 drivers ... I hope that was it --- I might get an ATI card to make sure though ... Thanks!

    Diginet Question

Thanks ... but how would that affect normal everyday recording or backing up of video ??? I am not loosing video and have no video loss ... Could this really be affecting it you think ... I will try since I have tried everything else ... thanks ...
  3. First off, thanks for ALL of your informative posts and sharing!! I think I have read every single one of them ... Love to see those pic's you post from paradise - god I love to see those palm trees and ocean views! Before I purchased an I-view card from Herm, I slothed around on Ebay and found a 240fps - 8channel DVR card ... I have only been able to find a few others like it, but so far- I am pretty sure it is a knockoff Kodicom card ... the "Thing" is blue board in color with pretty off-white heat sinks on top of each (8 of them) video chip on the board - "It" lights up like a Christmas tree with LEDs on the board red&green... it came with the Kodicom Diginet software - no manual, generic CDR with no label. You can see a pic of it on Ebay -Item#5746055069.

    gv900-8 channel

I had many questions and researched for days ... Found ALOT of junk out there and MANY pirated boards, never knew how big the problem was until I started contacting manufacturers. I found this forum and purchased I-view from Hermin... I almost went Geo, but price was just too high for my first card. The countless people I spoke with claimed they were the "Authorized" dealer - I ran into this problem on all brandnames. Wish I had found this forum sooner, could have saved many ZZzz's and most important - alot of BEER. However, you can find TRUE dealers here of QUALITY cards and not have to worry about junk, pirated versions or CUSTOMER SERVICE ... updates are critical for some brands --- think I remember reading about alot of people getting burned on pirated Geo cards not being able to upgrade. Either way ... bottom line ... buy from someone HERE - just my 2 cents worth!
  5. That looks great on the pocket PC! So far everything about I-view has been easy for me ... setup, remote view, etc. - NOT 1 REBOOT - 24hour continous recording on all 6 cams - already filled 200gig drive (took about 3.5 weeks) - it just keeps going & going - uptime is a little over a month (think it went online Feb. 17th or so???) However, I did tweak the @@$@!@ out of XP after installing a custom 'gutted' version - always nice to start with a BLANK desktop But It seems the hardware & software would be stable in any case, only thing I really have compared to so far is Diginet.
  6. Witness CP-1408ASE-T XP DVR Card - Up for 7 days ... went ahead and left on constant record 24/7 on a 200gig SATA just to see how long it will go .. so far 130gigs left. System is VERY stable .. no problems, very user friendly. Pics were captured from my home via Cable Modem - using the Remote Viewer - Freeview PRO software. http://home.midsouth.rr.com/ikill4food2/witness.bmp http://home.midsouth.rr.com/ikill4food2/witness2.bmp

    GV800-8, no video display

SQaule , I hate to see your having troubles on your first go around ... When I first received my Witness DVR card , I had no cameras at the house ... So I just took the outputs from what I had nearby to get some video signals into the card to test ... Example - My digital camera has an RCA video output .. So does my Camcorder, and I even ran the Video out from my Direct TV receiver into one of the BNC inputs on the cable to the card ... all of them just by using a simple RCA->BNC converter plug from RadioShack --- Think they actually call it a gold plated PHONO to BNC connector ... anyways ... I am sure you know what the connector is ... But have you tried a strong input signal from one of these types of sources yet just to make sure everything is working ok ???? Just a shot in the dark to hopefully help you out some ... I am sure someone will chime in that is familiar with the Geo card setup. I could attatch a signal to an input that indicated NO SIGNAL in it's window and not a second later the video would pop-up ... same for removal .. I do not see why it would be any different on yours since they both seem to have a type of VIDEO LOSS monitor feature.
  9. I recently purchased and received a Witness DVR card and software from Herminnshs ... This is my first DVR card/installation that will replace a 7 camera VCR system ... The software is VERY user friendly and stable, I received a professional looking package with manual and labeled CD (not some burned CDR) & much appreciated extras ... and it is ALL 100% english! herminshs has been there 100% since day 1 and is quick to answer any and all questions ... Very glad I came here looking for answers! The software is packed full of so many features that I am still learning to use ... Many thanks again Herminshs! A+ Customer service! Look forward to purchasing from you again ... Someone steers me right like this, you can bet I'm gonna recommend them and their product!!! DVR Card :Witness CP-1408ASE-T - 8-channel 120fps System : Intel P4 3.2 HT, Intel 915g express chipset, 200gb SATA Drive, 1gb mem, 128mb Ge-force, DVD-RW, XP-Pro.

    Geovision

Now thats a though ... Heck, why don't I just apply my corporation for a DEALER account ... there are so darn many dealers offering partnerships out there, you can even fillout the apps online within the site ...

    Geovision

Nice work ... I tried calling them earlier today and never got an answer ... Good prices (I GUESS ??!?!?!?!?) WHo knows what the $$%$%#@ a good price is for these DVR's ... There are so many "DEALERS" buying from one of the 2 "DISTRIBUTORS" in this country ... and they ALL have different prices ... too many counterfeits floating around to really throw a wrench in the mix! Wish I could physically inspect one before I purchased! Think I am more & more leaning away from Geovision --- just too darn high ...

    Geovision

No hits & SEVERAL strikes ... Zina forwarded me to Bonnie at Geovision who sent me contact information on a nearby dealer so I could purchase a supported Geovision DVR card ... WELL ... I just contacted this Dealer and they said NO --- They Sell NO DVR Cards to ANYONE at all ... SHOT DOWN AGAIN!!! Waiting to hear back from them on more sources ... Does anyone know of an AUTHORIZED WEBSITE selling Geovision DVR Cards ??? A Site that can be verified in Geovisions database ??? Thanks..

    Geovision

DARNIT --- Hit the Brick wall AGAIN! PER Zina at Geovision Subject of the site Worldeyecam.com: "Not a customer in our database. Where are you located? It may be better if we would just recommend you one. Of course you may not get the cheapest in market, but since our product needs certain level of after sale service (for example we upgrade certain things only through authorized distributor, if you purchased from a unknown source, you may pay extra for services). Please consider." Another let down --- Are there ANY LEGIT Geovision websites ANYWHERE ??? If I goto a local dealer just for a DVR Card, he will jack his price up & not come off $1 !!! Matter of fact I am sure all of them will in person ... no room to play with them ... STUCK --- AGAIN!

    Geovision 800-8

PER Zina at Geovision "Not our product. Steal our images from our web site. Counterfeit card sellers do not know we already re-design our hardware. Their counterfeit boards no longer run on our software version 6.1."
