What would suggest is changing port numbers to eve and user name and password so only you know the code put dvr in lock box cabinet with only one keyholder so eve cannot be got at from in front of unit without key install a separate camera and hidden second eve looking at eve area and front door separately this way there's no internet access and no knowledge of second dvr location then see what happens on the intrusion also change burglar alarm codes one per user not all on same code

    I've found coax to be fine for general CCTV and hd CCTV it will out live most people if good quality cable used and installed in the correct way or not outside unprotected in water etc

    Do you have the power supply that came with DVR in use with the DVR or have you used a different power supply

    Cat 5 for your power in case you upgrade to ip later and rg59 for video as I've never liked baluns on cat5 personally was taught the RG way many years ago and it's far better from a video transmission than cat5 baluns imhe

    You need to forward the ports via your router to your DVR the ports are http rstp and unit port to the machine

    IE GEEK DVR CCTV

    HI there i need to reset or get the password for a ie geek dvr that a client of mine has forgotten, they had the dvr changed a ouple years ago to a hikvision unit and now they are moving and want to leave the original dvr on the old pace to take hik to the new place and cant remember the password to the old IE GEEK DVR (photos can be taken if needed ) so i need to find the old password or reset does anyone know how to reset the dvr password. many thanks. Mode is IE GEEK CE2277-UK 8 channel dvr.
