OK this goes out to the old timers who know these houses... My house was either built in the very early 1900's or late 1800's the owner we bought it from was born here and he was over 70 and the house has been with his family for a long time. We have the old mortar board walls, and I have found old Knob-and-tube wiring under my house and left in the wall, they rewired it already. That wiring goes from 1880-1930, SO my question is, would it be easier to cut through the wall to run my camera cables down the wall, or should I go from underneath the house and just put a small hole in the floor.

Just so ya know also, if ya want good nightvision stay with 2k max, 4k has been tested on other sites to show degrading at night with IR, but if ya have a area well lit all night then 4k is best.

Any hikvision on Amazon is a copy, Hikvision has stated that they will not sell to the enduser, WHOLESALER's only. What ya have there is a DAHUA, Nellys is a authorized seller of rebranded Dahua. Dahua stated they will not sell BRANDED to the U.S., it has to be rebranded. so you are getting a real dahua from Nellys. Hope these pix help ya.

But the only prob ya have to worry about in going down the wall is if there is a fireblock in the middle, That one 2x4 thats horizontal.

Heres a list of rebrands in case ya want to find something different. Just os ya know Dahua does not sell to the U.S. under their name. and Hikvision just made a new rule, no sales to END USERS, must buy from a reseller or installer or wholesaler. This guy on youtube swears by Hikvision, he uses them to protect his property, and watches his neighborhood. He has a licesne plate reader, numerous cameras, and a ptz camera. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCG3sIHElW1I04kcWa-qTtBA

As far as I can tell, they are exactly the same unless your talking about software on them. A NVR is a network recorder, while a DVR is a digital video recorder, the NVR uses Cat 5 or 6 cable and puts your camera on though the network , while a standard DVR uses BNC cabling. but visually your most likely talking about the software, theirs alot of people on youtube showing their video setup for their Dahua NVRS.

Need pin diagram for Lorex network camera
PapaBill replied to abner's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I don't meant to interrupt this conversation, but are you saying that the Lorex connectors will corrode in the rain? Is this common or do all ip cameras have this prob? -
Hello all, as ya can see by my username I am Bill. I got on here after searching for a month for a good security camera system for my home, My wife and I live alone since the kids are all gone now, and to be honest this town is going to crap in a handbasket quickly. Last year a new family moved in about 100 yards away, and so far they had a driveby shooting at them because they apparently burglarized a house in another town and the owners were pissed and decided to shoot at them. And being in a farming community this place goes to total hell during the summer. Welcome to Oakdale Previous home of Hershey's Chocolate Factory. I am wanting to put up domes and bullets around the house mainly to watch the street since I am on a corner, and also going to try to find a good PTZ dome to mount on the top corner of my roof. Thanx for any info or pointers y'all send my way.
