Need Hikvision .mp4 export to be compatible with any player

Hi guys, I'm trying to help a client with his dilemma. He wants to export the .MP4 file from the DVR and play it on a windows media or video editor seamless without having to convert it or download any codecs to play it. Is there any way he would be able to do this?
