I just purchased a HAREX Model DRV-7216Z-D dvr and it will not go past the initialize screen. I got it used but I do not think it was ever taken out of the box someone suggested putting a hard drive in and someone else suggested updating the firmware. I did put a hard drive in that did not do anything. If I cannot get it to boot up how can I update the firmware.

clean formatted hard drive no change I put it an the shelf and bought a Hikvision dvr

I will give that a try

the hard drive is a 1 tbit Seagate that I took out of my hikvison system
