I have a Hikvision DS-7204HWI-SH DVR running 4 cameras which has recently started to play-up. The HD repeatedly produces several errors (eg "Not Exist"), and needs to be re-formatted to get working again. Also, the Playback won't work any more (using either iVMS-4200 or via Browser or Hik-Connect) - just locks up in whatever viewer I'm using. All cameras work fine in "live" view, just Playback has the problem, so looks like a HD issue.
I've lost confidence in it and want to replace it, but I don't want the hassle of a different manufacturer's system to configure. Therefore, can anyone please advise what Hikvision DVR I should replace and upgrade to, so I can simple plugin and configure similarly to my current settings? I don't expect to need more than 4 current cameras, but an option to have 8 might be useful.
Alternatively, is it possible / easy to just replace the HDD? Any suggestions what with?
