Hello,
My DX7000 recently bit the dust. I think it's a motherboard failure but I'm not sure. It doesn't even appear to post when powered up. No signal is ever sent to the screen or keyboard as far as I can tell. The "HD" light stays solid red as soon as the unit is powered up.
I tried the hard drives (all 5 of em') in a Win98 computer and they all pass scandisk fine, except for the boot drive. Scandisk found and repaired a few errors on it. Now it passes a subsequent scandisk.
I can't figure out any way to get into the BIOS, or failing that get it to boot from a startup disk in the floppy drive. Anybody know any tricks here?
If it really is DOA does anyone have a suggestion for an easy swapin replacement? I will need at least 16 channels, 24 would be better as I'm currently maxed out and wouldn't mind adding a couple of cams. I guess the DX8016 is Pelco's current replacement? It's a little pricey, but that doesn't scare me too bad if it's the best fit. Am I missing a better value out there? I'm not very informed on other brands.
TIA for any help!
