Hi all, I have a view questions about baluns (passive) My situation: I want to hang a fixed camera dome outside, and use cat5 and also run power tru the cat5. Baluns Can the stand cold well? I have some camera's whit 20/30 cm of wire already on them) See picture: Can i just tape them in and hang them outside ? If i want to put the balum inside of the dome (there is space for it) i have to cut the original cables From the Camera come 3 little wires, red, black and yellow. Witch wire di i have to connect to the balum? ( i thing yellow on balun - red on balun + black on just a wire from cat 5?)

Whit mid, i meen the Pan Tilt speed...thats not so fast a a real speeddome. The image is verry good! Same as the Bosh speeddome Camera's from work. The deliverance is the Tilt pan speed, 12 volt in stand of normal 24volts. Focus bit slower, price.

Correct, the car must be still, moving cars will not work, its also to slow becorse its not a real speed dome, more like a "mid"speed "dome" Its cheap ****, but for the cash great! Perfect to cover that last space or place whit risk of demolish ...

I've used a dirt cheap 10metre S-VHS cable, gave perfect results over that length. I was going to do a test by hooking up more 10m cables together until signal degradation became obvious, but shop sold out, so never did. Only thing of note, was that Dirt cheap 10m S-VHS cable gave stunning picture quality, dirt cheap 10m composite (non coaxial) video cable gives noticeably lower resolution and colour noise as expected from composite video, but also noticeable degradation over that 10 metre length. Given that observation, I had wondered weather you could use a dual run of coaxial cable with Luminance on one, and chroma on the other, which might give equal or better range than composite on Coaxial cable. If that worked then it could also be done with a network cable and dual balun on each end. Interesting, some one concurs this?

Hmmm, i have one Chinees no name 1/4 CCD 22x zoom PTZ Dome (not speed dome but mid speed) Works well in night, can read number plates from 50 meter away. Got it from ebay for $250,-

Using your pc as power supply is stupid, no good idea my cctv friend. Ust use a power supply. I have buyed one on ebay for 90 usd, 16 channels of 12 or 24 volt. each channel protected by fuse, 15 (pep 20 amp) Amps total on 12 volt. I can manual turn the volts up for each channel !

Yes i know for 90% sure your hard disk is defect. So cheap problem to fix, just buy a other one O and be aware that we have now SATA as mail HDD, so you will need a ATA. (or sometimes scsi)
