  1. I have a PC with a DVR card. The CPU is running at between 80-95%, although I am running WinMX (file sharing software) on it as well!!! (over the net). The DVR card is an Anykeeper with Kodicom software. All the cameras are on motion detection recording (no recording unless something is happening). My opinion is that providing the CPU is not overheating, then it should be ok at 90% useage. The HDD is the mechanical part which wears out. Having a HDD constantly reading/writing will reduce it's life. A CPU has no moving parts so it should be ok. Matt
  2. Just to let you know, I still have not tried it yet! It has been very hot here in the UK, and my DVR computer is in the loft (roof area), the temperature up there is between 30-40 degrees celcius! I have not forgotten, will try it soon! I am using the Kodicom software... http://www.koditec.com/eng/support-program.htm Version: KD-Net 2.50.16.0 What software are you using? (Anykeeper, eyemax, kodicom?) Matt
  3. I have a 2016 card. It has 16 camera inputs (2x 8-way plug in leads) and "4 audio inputs". Is your DVR card the same as mine? Before, I had a different DVR card. It was a 2004 card which had only 4 camera inputs and 1 audio input. With the 2004 I had no problems with audio. Now I have upgraded to the 2016 card the audio does not work anymore. So..... "I think" I have the same problem as you, but I need to check my system first. I will let you know my result soon! Matt
  4. I am trying to view cameras over my local network. To do this I bring up internet explorer, type in " http://102.xxx.xxx.x (the ip address of my server) " and after accepting to download ActiveX, camera 1 appears. There are 3 drop down boxes at the top of the window: (1) One with just an arrow (which should contain a list of cameras!) (2) multi-screen options (3) image size. I can use the middle drop down box, and select "4 split, cameras 1-4","4 split, cameras 5-8" and all of the other multiscreen combinations. This is all fine, but when I select to display a single camera ("no split"), the drop down menu on the left of it is unavailable. It always defaults to camera 1. This left drop down box should contain a list all of my cameras, so that I can select a different one. I remember when I was using the original Anykeeper software, this once worked, but it also failed and after this I upgraded to Kodicom. Anyone experienced this before, or know how to solve it? Matt

    Anykeeper Software

I need more information. PC processor speed, PC memory size, age of PC. Is it "when you connect" a camera you have a problem, or when you "program the camera in setup" you get the problem. When the computer crashes, does the application "perform an illegal function" or the computer restarts by itself? I now use kodicom software for my anykeeper 2016 card. What version of Anykeeper software do you use? (go into setup, then "about" tab). If it is 2.49.9.0 then there is an upgrade available. Check out the middle of this thread for the kodicom link. I have had 2x 4camera Anykeeper boards and now upgraded to a single 16 channel DVR card. It has run smoothly and reliably for over a year and never locks up. Matt

    Anykeeper Software

Hi, Thanks for your suggestion. One thing I found with the Koditec software, it was as if someone English speaking had gone through the GUI and corrected the spelling and phrases! It looks reasonably professional, has enough features and does the job. With the Anykeeper software, things just do not seem right and it is obvious it was developed from the far east (Korea I think?). For example: In the CONTROL tab, why did they rename the heading above the recording/VMD/outputs, etc to "Access?". It was "status" which made sense! I took a quick look at the engineers guide and noticed that the SETUP screen has been redesigned. Not sure why, because now it looks more complicated and not so easy to understand, but appears to do the same as before! So I think I will just keep monitoring the Koditec page for an update, although I am fairly happy with the current version. Any comments?
  7. I bought this Anykeeper DVR as I liked the GUI. Since then it has run almost problem free, that was until I tried to make an AVI file. "Save as" -> (AVI,BMP or JPG) Select AVI The video window opens, then click START. "video codec?" -> Select either uncompressed, or may other formats. Recording now begins, but it cannot be stopped! As soon as something large changes on the screen, or you click STOP or QUIT then program hangs. The only thing to do is CNTRL ALT DEL, then end the program! I know Anykeeper is not mentioned alot here, and realise that maybe I should have invested in a GV DVR card but is there anyone that could help here? I am looking for the latest version of Anykeeper, but it is not downloadable from anykeeper.com without a password. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you, Matt

    Anykeeper Software

Hi, If you look down the forum a bit, you will find my post "Thread= Anyone know about Anykeeper?". Please read this thread. I had a few problems with the Anykeeper software, so I tried to find some help on this forum. "Loop" gave me a site with software that works with Anykeeper DVR cards. Now, there are 2 different types of software. Goto this site: http://www.koditec.com/eng/support-program.htm You will see this: ◈ Program download ◈ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ◈KD-Net 3.3.3.0 Download ◈KD-Net 3.2.10.9 Download -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ◈KD-Net 2.50.16.0 Download ◈KD-Net 2.50.15.0 If your DVR card is a NEWER type, try the 3.3.30/3.2.10.9 software. When you have installed it, run the program. On "my" card it said "DVR card not found" which means that I had the older firmware, so it was not possible for me to benefit from the "more advanced" software. I installed the 2.50.16.0 software. Compair this "KD-Net" software with the "Anykeeper" software... The graphics are slightly different, but the format is the same. I bought my DVR card from ebay, they gave me Version 2.49.9. I have lots of problems with it, and MUCH TIME it took me to find an update. Goto the ND-Net site, and you will find a MUCH BETTER version. So for ME, I had 2.49.9.0. Now I have 2.50.16.0. It is not Anykeeper, but is almost the same. Also, when you have finished installing the software, go into the "LOGO" folder. I did not like the default 'yellow' KD-Net Logo's. So I changed them. Now I have "Matt's DVR" instead of "KD-Net 2116". If you like, post your email address here, I will send you the JPG's that I made so you can make your software look better than before. Good luck, post back to this forum and tell me what happened. Matt
  10. Thank goodness for that. Thanks very much LOOP. The eyemax software you sent did not work, but the other software you suggested did work. The software looks different from the Anykeeper GUI, but the format and setup is exactly the same. More importantly, it is an update to what I had before. (Had: Version 5.49.00, Now: Version 5.50.16) My previous Anykeeper software problems: * "Saturation" spelt wrong! * Difficult to playback a camera, unless you zoomed in to the timeline and clicked a blue dot (a recorded frame) first * Making an AVI file (making a movie file, for example, to give to police of an incident) was difficult, as it kept locking up during the process! * Difficult to move the brightness and contrast sliders (they would not move occasionly) * When exiting setup (saving changes) took a while to start up again * The setup screen was too big, which means that the and buttons were off the screen! To get them, you had to try and shift the window to the highest point on your monitor!! This update is much better, and all of the above problems look like they have been rectified. Loop, with your permission, can I place a link to that site? Many, many thanks! Matt
  11. I did not receive it. I have just sent myself an email with attachment, and again, nothing received, so looks like a problem with my email. Could you please send it to xxxx@xxxxxxx Thanks for doing that! Matt
  12. thats: djs underscore xxxx@xxxxxxx Many thanks
  13. (attempting to make AVI file from dvr) Well, I only needed about a minutes worth of recording. After waiting 40 minutes I think it is safe to assume its crashed. I tried making a AVI of a few seconds worth of DVR recording, and it worked! I am going to try a faster machine this week sometime, to see if its a speed issue. I am still looking to try that DVR version if you have a chance to send it to me 'loop'(forum user)? Damn! Wish I could get into the Anykeeper site to download the lastest version! Thanks
  14. Hi, Please send to xxxx@xxxxxxx (I sent you an PM with a different email address, but the one above is fine). Many thanks, Matt ***I will post the results here soon (whether it worked, or how reliable it was, etc)***
  15. Please send me a copy and i'll try it, Thanks,
  16. Looking at the EYEMAX website (www.eyemax.com). Have a look in PRODUCTS then the 9000 series. This is the Anykeeper card isn't it? I tried to install the eyemax software, which again, is very simular if not identical! Problem is, after the installation, "DVR card is not found". I tried installing the original Anykeeper drivers for the DVR card (from windows 'devices' page, but still the same. Someone mentioned something about eyemax software working with Anykeeper cards a while ago, did anyone have any success? Matt
