Dear Rory, Thank you I got it.... If this is the IP camera, then black boarder line is normal... If this is the analog camera with no DSP Overlay function on, then it is normal... If this is the analog camera with DSP overlay on... then it is not normal to see any black lines If this is the analog camera with DSP overlay on, then still has black border line... like we discuss before... this issue might be more toward to certain PANO chipset cameras .... I am more interesting in the issue as following... " GV1120 which has 8 of the Eclipse ECL-598HIM Bullet cameras, those are fine, but they added a B/W Gate camera to it and that has lines on all sides of it " Is it possible that the issue is caused by the Gate controller and also is run over RG6? Dear Rory, What are the model number and brand name of those cameras? Are they IP cameras or analog cameras? What capture cards are you using? What software version did you use? Let me know as soon as possible... Sincerely, ____________________ Andy Chen Technical Support, GeoVision Inc , Taiwan +886-2-8797-8377 with extension 287

Black line taking up lower part of vid from Pano CCDs in Geo
andy_geovision replied to rory's topic in Geovision
Dear Rory and 501, I knew that if clients are using the third party IP cameras, there might be a blackline shown up at the boarder of images...The truth is different cameras might have different display resolution. When this display resolution compressed and display into one of channel in GeoVision software, this display resolution from the third party IP camera might not completely fit into GeoVision software. That's why you have a black line in the live view when using third party IP cam....This issue is well-known...let me report this to my manager to see if there is any fix in the later version... Regarding to Rory cameras with black line... I assume Rory is using an analog camera with PANO CCD.. Testing the version 8.0-8.2, I assue Rory has turn on DSP Overlay but still see the black line in live view and webcam remote view... If this is the case, PANO doesn't fit with GeoVision Capture card... It is sad to hear that..... Dear 140, 1) If say I have 16 cams connected, have the unit set to record only when motion is detected... and only (4) of the (16) channels are showing motion does this mean 4/120=30fps? , or is the frame rate going to be 7.5 fps spread EVENLY over the 16 channels? >> the frame rate is 7.5 spread evenly.. 2) Related to the total frame rate: >> Based on 320*240 2) On TV output- I understand you wanting to sell additional hardware such as the GV DSP Card (or combo cards with built in TV output) but could you go into detail on why can't the TV output of the PC card of the computer itself output the image? Most high-end cards these days have TV /HDMI/DVi output. >> Due to each customer has different needs and ideas, GeoVision here only provides some technical suggestions and feeback to the customers..If you have VGA card supported TV out function, then yes, you can simply use VGA card instead of GV DSP cards... In general, all the TV-out VGA card should be fit.... Any questions, let me know.. Dear Conper, Please try the following. 1. Update the VGA card driver to the latest. 2. Update DirectX driiver to 9.0c. What GeoVision capture did you use? When you were talking about big or small window size, did you mean " Full screen mode "? Thank you.. Dear Rory, Here is the Spec you gave me.... GV1120 Tested with version 8.10 - 8.12 During Live view and Playback a black line right at the bottom of cameras. What resolution you got there? What codec did you use? Did you enable the DSP Overlay? By the way, what Windows operating system did you have? Please let me know... Thank you... Dear Cos140, GV 600 / 30 fps in total. GV 650 / 60 fps in total. GV 800 / 120 fps in total. It really depends on what you need.... If future camera expansion is considered, you might purchase 8 CH, instead of 4 CH. If you purchase 4CH only, later on you can't put another 4 CH capture card into the same PC... For the PC Spec, you might want to take a look at our suggest PC Spec 73 Systems tested by Geo with their various PC DVR Cards. Shows PC Hardware Details as well as DVR Card specs. http://www.ezcctv.com/attributes/cmplx_knwldgbs/filename/GeoVision-Suggested-PC-Specification.pdf If LPR is consdered.. you might go for GV 1240_8 port If LPR isn't considered... you might go for GV800_8 port ** TV OUT function is only for Combo Cards such as GV 1120, GV1240 or GV1480.....If you want GV800 with TV out function, you might consider purchase another card called GV DSP Card. Splitting RS-232 to control two different PTZ protocols
andy_geovision replied to anchorjoe's topic in Geovision
Dear Anchorjoe, Here is another thought.... One Pelco dome is using GV Net card and the other Lilin dome is using GV Com box... GV Com box is using USB interface; therefore, you don't have to worry about not enough com port problems... I haven't tried the com port splitter.. Anyone here wanna share the experience? Dear All, Really sorry for any inconvenience to cause you guys.... Camera's image can be influenced by cameras, resolution and capture cards. If cameras' chipsets are not 100% compatible with the chipsets in captures, video quality might be affected. The true is GV 600/650/800 and GV Combo are using two different chipsets. The video images in GV600/650/800 are not as crystal clear as the image in GV Combo card. GeoVision had done a couple different tests by using a couple differet cameras in GV 600/650/800 and GV Combo. The result is the same above. I had heard from EZ, from you guys and other customers... I even called the cameras' companies and discuss the image problem with tech representatives..After done some adjustments, still no lock.. This issue might be something to do with GeoVision capture cards' Spec. Or something to do with compatibile issue between cameras' chipsets and GeoVision capture cards' chipsets. I apologize for any inconvenience. Sincerely, ____________________ Andy Chen Technical Support, GeoVision Inc , Taiwan +886-2-8797-8377 with extension 287

Dear Zaf, You can have one CV2 and DVR in one machine or make it separate.. It doesn't have to be the third PC... But I always recommend customers to have a dedicated PC for CV2. Sincerely, ____________________ Andy Chen Technical Support, GeoVision Inc , Taiwan +886-2-8797-8377 with extension 287

Dear Ruairi, I don't understand what you meant by extra software...Please explain to me. Thank you... In GV NVR or GV IPCAM, Spot monitor feature isn't supported.. I did talked to Edwin and other Tech support people.... Here is the conclusion... There would be no patch or fix for the spot monitor features in GV NVR or GV IP CAM. Sorry for the inconvenience. Dear ruairi, As far as I know, the audio functions work with 2 third-party IP cams only. Sony_SNC_RZ25N Sony_SNC_RZ50N Do SNC-CS50 and SNC-P1 work with audio? SNC-CS50n or SNC-CS50p? or both? I need to confirm this with you..Thank you... The IP cam will not be shown under TV-out feature when integrating with GV Combo cards...Release a patch? I havn't heard any info regarding to this....
