Which DVR are you referring to?
-
Welcome aboard!!! I'm very very new here myself but I think I'm fitting in... TSCM ... What equipment do you do and what certifications did you have to get in order to become one! I've got a pretty good eye for cameras even when I'm not looking for them tho, so this does not sound like it would be a horrible profession eh! Welcome

Web based PTZ camera controller
Smit9352 replied to LongHill's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Are the Eagle items proprietary to the Eagle software? If not, will it operate on a standard protocol like Pelco or Lilin? If it isn't proprietary then look at Vivotek to see if you could use their VS7100 units. Thanks, John -
The last 3 applications where I used video balluns I did it all within just one cat-5 cable. I ran the entire cable all the way to the end to the last camera and took 2 wires out and ran them to my ballun. Then went back to the 3rd camera and did the same then to the 2nd and finally the 1st. This was a very short run (by short I mean less than 400ft) and it is still functioning properly even after 11months so far. Goodluck! Thanks, John

A DVR card would be better if you don't have the spare room for a dvr and already have a rather newer computer that you could install the DVR card in. If you're looking for a DVR we have a few here at our office if you want to pm me for any specifics you're looking for (price range / functions) and I'll show you what we have here. Image Sensor 1/3" Sony color CCD Resolution 480 TV Lines Minimum Illumination 0 Lux Lens Furnished 6mm Power Supply 12V DC Power Consumption 100mA S/N ratio: More than 48dB IR Wavelength 24 unit 850nm Lifetime 100000 hours IR Distance 75 - 105' _____________________________________________________ OR Image Sensor 1/3" Sony High Resolution ExView CCD Resolution 420 TV Lines Minimum Illumination 0.01 Lux/F2.0 Lens Furnished F3.6mm @f2.0 Power Supply 12V DC Power Consumption 110mA Electronic Shutter 1/60 (1/50) to 1/100,000 sec. Video Output 1 Vp-p / 75 Ohms. S/N ratio More than 46dB Scanning System Interlace 2:1 _____________________________________________________ I'd recommend to pickup 4 small Non-IR cameras tho if you are going to have flood lights or if street lights are going to be close to the cameras locations. Most DVR's now have CD backup (or at least usb) and remote networking so you can view it from any windows based PC away from your home. Also motion detection is definately now commonplace as well as MPEG4 compression for the video. Are there any other functions your looking for specifically? Also what's the budget? Thanks, John

Mounting Pole - Wood or Galvanized
Smit9352 replied to sbbamafan's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Smart move! Best thing I've come up with so far is I get whichever mount I'm using on the pole (typically a band clamp mount) and I'll try to find a very thin sheet of rubber and wrap it around the pole where the bracket touches. Another option would be uhm... use some rubber washers or maybe grommets to ensure that the metal from the camera is not touching the metal of the pole. Thanks, John -

CCTV Imports sell the same thing oddly enough I seen, I've used them myself in a couple applications and there still working just fine after about 1 1/2 years now. Definitely a great camera! Good luck with them, John

Smit9352 replied to rdawg's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I've been using glow rods as well... Maybe this "gun" thing isn't such a bad idea huh Scorpion? Ha ha -
Are you looking to try and do a stand-alone dvr for your application or were you more or less looking for just a quad/switcher (will not record). I'd definitely look for a stand-alone dvr if I were in your position and the cameras are there any specific color exterior you'd like to find or does it not matter? Shoot me back,
