    Need to sell, or trade

I have i-view 1408 8ch 240fps. need to sell this one, please offer me a price. i dont know what its worth but i paid 500 dollars for it last year, from the guy here at cctvforum. if someone has gv-1240 REAL card, not fake i m willing to trade with that one. just let me know what is the difference i have to pay the reason i want to sell or trade is, all my other 5 stores have gv-1240 or gv-1480, so in order to view the multicam via internet, i like all of them to be geovision. it works great btw, and i havent had a problem. thanks

    Gv-1240 vs Gv-2008

I am in need of 8 channel 240fps. which one is better? running dell computer with 750gb drive and 1gb memory. I dont know anything about hardware compression, what does that mean, and if is better than y so? thanks
  7. I have the system on the floor, and I want to put the monitor hanging from the ceiling by the cash register, so they can see all the cameras, now i know that vga in the back wont reach all the way up to top thru drop ceiling, so what i need, just a regular vga extension, wont it kill the signal from the computer to the monitor? please advise
  8. I am having problem with i-view remote view setup. This is the first time i am doing the iview, In the past i did a geovision and it went all well I enabled the ezserver with the default port 1901, and enabled webserver tcp port to 1001, listening port is 80, everything is set to default port. I went in the router, and port forward those port in the gaming and application menu. my ipconfig come to say 192.168.1.2 and that is the ip i did set in my dvr server with listening port 80. when i do 192.168.1.2 that i can get to remote view, when i do host.dnsalias.com i can get to remote view, when i do my ip, i can get to it, but i cant get to it from home, nor any other computer. can anyone help me out, thank P.S> I used to have the geovision installed in this computer, and it worked fine with remote view, same ip and everything. so all the geovision port was already forwarded, all i added is port 1001 and 1901 as it came up in iview default. thanks
  9. I have gv-1480 which has the tvout, I want to put a monitor either right in the store so customers can see it, and it rotates the cameras, or behind the cash register, one or the other. I have 13 inch TV, that has the coaxle cable, and not the video/audio out av output. If i need to , I can buy one, not a big deal so since i have never done this part, what you guy suggest, which way is better way to do, should i have to connect the monitor via video card s-video? or d-type slot, and use the tv out of the dvr card? connect the bnc from dvr to coaxial cable to do i have to change the cable and get extension? 2. if I have a monitor by me behind the counter, is there a way cashier can change the camera to view, like somone is aisle 8 , can i switch my camera view to aisle 8 by standing right here at the register without going to the system? i highly doudt that but better ask... please advise thanjks

  11. Thanks again for all your replies. so here is what i am doing, i am thinking about getting a regular tv or monitor for customer, and putting that out in the lobby area. Thinking about getting one computer/or using my laptop by the cashier which i already hooked up last night, but now help me with one thing guys, I dont want this cashier computer to connect to system like i connect from home using the dsl connection, using multiview on internet explorer. when i tried that, the frame rate sucked big time. I tried remote view software too, but that still connect tcp/ip over the internet which again is slow I like to view the same way at cashier real time like i have in the backoffice? so they can spot the stealing I think that is what UMDRanger is taking about, connect the network over lan, am i right?, but what is multiview IIRC?

Gilbarco G-SITE POS Text Overlay on Geovision

oh i need to know that as well?
  13. All good replies...! very very helpful, thanks yes it would be much better if the cashier can view the cameras accordingly...! so instead of the whole computer, i can have the laptop setting by, and still do the remote setup right? remote viewing is different than the muiltiview over the internet, am i right? cuz over the net, looking at 16 channels is way too slow even though i have 6mb of dsl, but still the frame rate sucks..! thanks
  14. so what you guys are saying is leave me the system in the office which has the dvr and all, and just come up with the different computer (the whole thing) and leave it by the counter? how would I connect that computer to connect the system in the office, via REMOTE VIEW? rightnow i use dsl to view the multiview at home, so would i need to be expert in networking or something to connect those 2 computers together? please let me know thanks

    VNC or else

I am using the vnc remote viewing to get in my desktop at work computer. from this software, i can change the setting of the dvr, and all, but is there a application, in which you can get in the bios, remote start, reboot everything remotly. i dont think vnc does that, but i heard there is such a thing. one more question how many ports total geo-vision use. i just recently had to add 5222 to remotly view logs, I have about 9 ports open in my router linksys, and i have no more place.. vnc, geohttp, and all others 4550 5550 6550, how many more geo-vision use, i want all of them unabled? please advise thanks

  20. I have a dvi gv-1480, i which i am trying to bring all the 16 wires from the drop cleaning above my office. now i need a suggestion. instead of bring all 16 wires, can i get a dvi dual extention wire 10 feet long for $20.00, plug it behind my dvr card and run it up to the ceiling, and connect all those 16 wires up in the ceiling. no mess behing the computer. would it drop the quality a whole lot? or if any? please advise

    Need help in deciding

Okay i am building this 16 channel geo-vision using gv-1480, and dell 9300 with 256mb video card, first tell me if that is the best way to get 16 outputs. 2nd thing is, that this is my 3rd system. in first system i used i-view. in 2nd system i used gv-1240, cuz they both were 8 channels. i used phoenix 480tv lines, sony chipset auto iris cameras. they were $150 dollars with lens, power supply, and bracket. i dont know if that was a good deal or what, but i bought this from ebay...! i need some suggestion about deciding the 16 channel cameras i need to stay in just about same range for 150 dollars or so. so can anyone suggest better cameras with everything inluded, may be little better quality than what i have from pheonix. please let me know thanks P.S they are indoor use mainly in gas station, may be one or two pointing outside or something.

    Need help in deciding

i m using gv-1480 i used 480tvl sony super head, and it is somewhat fine, but those 520tv really sucks in it. lot of pixels and power pic quality pic goes dark and light, hue gets all messy, color go sharp to dull any suggestions , cuz i am planning to return them if i could, and invest in something better. range would be upto $200 color auto iris? 480 or 520 whateva, as long as it gives me better pic quality. thanks
