    buffering

    J. Thanks for your reply. Motion detection isn't activated. What I meant was: At the office, everything is viewed fine, in real time but watching the images over the net, it's extremely slow and jerky and I wondered if they was any way to buffer it so that you see it after a time delay when it's caught up - much as you get when downloading streaming video over the internet. . . . 2. Sometimes, taking the cmos battery out for a couple of minutes isn't enough. I would unplug the machine, take out the cmos battery and leave it overnight.
  3. Don't know if it helps but . . Flash pen should be formatted to fat32 and the external hard drive wouldn't work on mine without without external power supply. There wasn't enough power coming from the usb port.
  4. Got a new one of these and wanted to do my first backup to usb. I clicked on channels 1 & 2 as the ones to save and expected to get a quad picture with 2 channels blanked out but all I got was channel 2 on it's own. Do they record one after the other? I had the settings too high and couldn't get it all on the disk so I never got to the end to find out . . . . . On normal playback, it's recorded all four in quad mode. It's just on the back up they don't show. Am I missing something? I must say, I find the manual a bit inadequate. Many thanks Bob

    avtech 782 backups

I've tried it on CD as well but still only got one channel. The back up function gives you the choice to save up to four channels at once. If the hard drive has recorded and can play back in quad mode, surely, you should be able to copy what's on the hard drive . . . .
