Just noticed the title of your post. Not a JPEG 2000 but may still work. Sorry about that.
-
Hi, If I understand what you are referring to...Try inputting a date of 6 months ago ( for example ) in the begin date. By doing so, it should display the oldest file. If the files are older than 6 months, go further back in time. Is this a JPEG2000 DVR? Hope this helps Mike

G4-LTA software, need help!!!
shoreviewsecurity replied to hambone13's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi, All you want to do is use the Client Software to view your DVR without a router? Sounds like the only thing you did not do was configure your computer correctly??? Make sure you are using the provided cat 5 patch cable to connect your DVR to your computer. Go into your Network connections in your control panel and highlight the Local Area Connection and select properties. Highlight Internet Protocol ( TCP/IP ) and select properties. Select the " Use the following IP address ", I manually configure my computers IP address to 192.168.1.104 ( any number will work as long as it IS NOT the DVR IP address, with the submask of 255.255.255.0 and nothing in the default gateway. Close out of that configuration box. Type in the DVR's IP address ( my DVR is 192.168.1.150 ) and the web viewer will appear. Also works using the client as well. Hope this helps. Please let us know. Thanks Mike -
DIY Home DVR Recommendation?
shoreviewsecurity replied to CottyGee's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hello Again, I am concerned that a response has not been posted nor have I received a PM. I do not want this DVR to get a bad name when it's not deserving. Who ever it was purchased from should make good on it by either out right replacing it or issuing an RMA for it's repair. Please either reply or send me a PM ( Private Message ). I want to help you. Thanks Mike -
DIY Home DVR Recommendation?
shoreviewsecurity replied to CottyGee's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi, I am actually a distributor for these and I must ask did you reach out to who you bought it from for support?? I have an LTA that I use for demo purposes for potential customers to log into. The reviews are good because it really is a nice DVR. Maybe I can help you resolve your issue even though you did not purchase it from me. Thanks Mike -
Regular no frills Internet Broadband works fine. You can either remotely back up over the Internet or the Local Area Network on site.
-
Hi, I'm sure there are many DVR's that have the ability to remotely cycle record out there. The model I use is the G4-RTA Series DVR. This remote recording feature is accomplished via the client software loaded at the location you wish to back up to. I have one customer who backs up her DVR via this method where she has the back up PC located in another building on the property that is on the same network. Only her and I know it is in place. Both are on battery back up as well. This solution was implemented due to the fact that my customer feared not only the DVR being stolen but also the power being cut prior to break in. Very fluid and does not consume a lot of bandwidth. Visit our site to learn more. Thanks Mike

Recommended DVR under $1500
shoreviewsecurity replied to Secureman's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hello, You may want to check out the G4 Series DVR. We have a Live Demo using the LTA 4 Channel so potential buyers can try first. We install this line of DVR in our local market and have had great success with it. There are a lot of great DVR's out there but once we found this one, there was no reason to look any further. If you want to log in, send a PM or visit our site and I will provide a username and password. Thanks Mike -

View multiple DVR's at one network console
shoreviewsecurity replied to robg's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi, Yes, as CollinR has pointed out, any line that is worth its' salt will provide software that will accomadate this feature. The G4 Line of DVR's, the RTA, XLA and LTA all provide client software where you can configure up to 50 DVR's and view video from any one at the same time. I use this software to monitor my local customer DVR's. Work's very well. Thanks Mike -
Hi, I sell and support this line of DVR... First, I do not have an owner's manual for the LTA-8. Sorry. But can tell you that it is very similar to the LTA-4. The XLA can record at 30fps in CIF and 15fps in 2CIF. The LTA, both 8 and 4 channel will only record in CIF. The XLA 8 does not support audio at all whereas the LTA-8 supports 4 audio inputs. LTA-8 will support 2 IDE HDD. The XLA-8 will support 2 IDE HDD if the optional DVD/R is installed or 4 without. By the way, if you are going to connect either to your network, there will be no need to install a DVD as you can transfer video to your PC and burn from there. Much easier. Hope this info has helped. Thanks Mike

PTZ panning above horizon 90 degrees
shoreviewsecurity replied to maximusbraveheart's topic in Security Cameras
Hi, Yes, I have shimmed the actual camera housing up ever so slightly in the mount to achieve horizon and above viewing. Had an exact application and the customer said, "hey, why can't I see the horizon"? I said I would be right back, made the modification, and now my customer can see the horizon 360 degrees. I used a sliver of a match book cover. In no way affected the operation of the cam otherwise. -
help with DVR decision, details inside!
shoreviewsecurity replied to hoostine's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi, I have been challanged with similar jobs. Separate buildings with only fiber connectivity. Have had great success using Versitron's Fiber Transceivers. Also have used their product for bi-directional video/data fiber traffic for PTZ cameras. I have deployed thier 4 channel product with excellent results. As long as you have 1 fiber available, you can haul all of your analog video to your DVR. I personally like stand alone DVR's as opposed to PC based. Just my opinion. As far as H.264 storage... Many factors play into this answer, frame rates, resolution, recording 24/7 or motion only etc. Can say you will get more archiving with H.264. Your budget seems a bit light considering your task and info provided. Good Luck and I hope this info has helped. Thanks Mike -
Specco VL-66 or G4-400hpt - recomended better camera?
shoreviewsecurity replied to brianoftheforum's topic in Security Cameras
I see that this is an "old" post ( I know, 4 days?? ) but I have a G4-400HPT cam on my demo G4-LTA if you are interested in seeing its' performance both day and night. I have had several requests to view our demo and you may have been one of them. If not, you may wish to consider taking a look. These cams are now in stock. Thanks Mike -
This camera will not accomadate the CMB-1B Bracket that you refer to. I am familiar with the mount in question as I have used them with other cams. As far as a comparison between DVR's - There is none!!! I have never experienced the Speco first hand. I did however research it and if you are going to spend the same money, you are much much better off with an XLA or something equivlant. The Speco does not offer remote viewing, does not allow to adjust frame rates between cameras and a host of other features, not pentaplex, not H.264 compression ( the Speco is M-JPEG ? ). Although I do sell the XLA, in my opinion and if it's around the same money, you are better off with the XLA or something similar to it's specs. Hope this helped. Mike

Hi, It has been my experience that any UV exposure will discolor the camera housing. Having said that, under the soffet will probably eliminate this issue. Also, this camera mounts to a vertical wall and is not conducive for mounting on a horizontal surface. Be sure to leave enough room above the camera to allow for tilting adjustment. Additionally, insure prior to installation, that the lens cover is tight to prevent ingress of moisture as mentioned previously in this thread. Thanks Mike

Little help with a minor G4-RTA problem, please.
shoreviewsecurity replied to BennyBoy's topic in Digital Video Recorders
You will have to use the Client Software to be able to select specific time frames. You can not do this in the Web based Viewer. In the Client, you will be able to playback a specific time frame, say 12:00:00pm to 12:00:10pm and download to your PC in a folder called download. -

OK, great!! Send a small clip ( files will tend to be large ) so be careful. Maybe 15 or 20 seconds. Send it to my email address. Hopefully my inbox will accept it as I only have so much quota and my inbox is pretty full. If it bounces, email me and let me know. Thanks Mike -

Are you using the VGA output or the BNC video out to sample your video? Try using the other video out and sample that way. In other words, if you are sampling via the VGA card then try using the video out and vise versa. I have not experienced any noticeable degradation in image quality and I have installed many of these units. And yes, I do like this unit. Hands down!!!!!! -

Need Help DVR Hikvision DS-8000HCI-S
shoreviewsecurity replied to Dumah.Mx's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Yes!!! And I might add, that the Intellicam units use Texas Instruments DSP's I quote from Intellicam's site... "Texas Instruments dominates the Video DSP market because they simply have it right. Unparalleled performance, unparalleled reliability, and value only made possible by the enormous number of H.264 processors sold by this world leader in DSP technology" Interestingly enough, when you Google Hikvision and look at the processor specs, no mention of the type of processor. Processor Type: DSP ?????? Personally, I feel much more comfortable knowing that those units I install have TI's name on it. Also provides immediate name recognition and some sense of comfort to the buying public. OMO ( Only My Opinion ) -
Need Help DVR Hikvision DS-8000HCI-S
shoreviewsecurity replied to Dumah.Mx's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi, I work with these units everyday, not HIK but the G4-RTA from Intellicam, all the same but Intellicam units are much better. Would you mind if I were to access this unit remotely and take a look at the config? PM me with the IP address. That's all I need. I will take a look at the health of the DVR using the latest client software. Also, if you have changed the default login info, please either assign me one or provide that info as well. I believe I can help you. May not be until later tomorrow ( Friday ) Thanks Mike -
-EDIT: Store Links CR- 4 channel unit with one audio input. Will allow you to view and hear in real time. I might add however, dependent upon Internet speeds at the DVR and remote location may affect performance. I usually remotely download the event and play back so as to have seemless audio. A few of my customers who do have audio, it may be great one hour and OK the next. It all depends on Internet congestion AND PC performace as well. Also available in other versions, ie XLA and RTA. Thanks Mike

DIY Home DVR Recommendation?
shoreviewsecurity replied to CottyGee's topic in Digital Video Recorders
I wanted to comment on the Intellicam unit as it can not "play" in reverse as has already been established. Additionally, the idea of using the "slide " bar over the Internet will be a challange. The Intellicam unit can do the same thing via the Web interface and the Client Software BUT somewhat difficult due to the nature of the Internet. Even on the same network, you will not get fluid playback by using the slide bar. I have tried it. What I have done in the past is actually download the portion of video in question to my or my customer's PC and reviewed using the included viewer. This viewer WILL allow step back and step forward reply frame by frame and by using the slide bar you can very quickly scan the file for anything obvious. I have used this method on customer's DVR's who record 24/7. They call and ask me to review a portion of video for whatever. I download and play in the viewer using the slide bar back and forth looking for the whatever. Also, the viewer can convert H.264 to .avi. Yes, the drawback is having to have the viewer software where ever you are to do this ( playback frame by frame ) but being in the business, I have it on my laptop. Just thought I might be able to shed more light on the subject. Thanks Mike I wanted to put up a demo of this viewer and how it works as described above but my screen capture program would not fully display the video
