It looks like Windows 7 has the solution built in for us! This will remove all the drivers and put the OS in an "out of the box" state. Essentially you just reload your drivers and it's finished. Take a look at this link: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/135077-windows-7-installation-transfer-new-computer.html I know there are a lot of XP fans in here, but i'm so "pro" on Windows 7 vs. XP now I can hardly use XP anymore. Whether it's things like the auto backup/image system, this new sysprep function and the fact I've forgotten what a blue screen looks like just makes me more and more a fan every day. I'm sure there are a lot of cons but no more than any other OS. I will be giving this a try. Not sure when I will get around to it, but hopefully within a month or so.

hi even without your ip you will see it will be high geo uses alot anyway. About 50% normally

Generally that doensn't always work. I have a clone of the drive, so I might try uninstalling all the drivers, change boards and then install drivers. I have had some people suggest that will work. I"m not convince enough to do it without having a ready backup though. What I should do is get my other stuff off of the geovision server. I could make a new system for geo and then use the old system for the other stuff. Space is the issue since both have to be where they are. I suppose I could have one monitor for both systems and a kvm switch or something.

Yea, thought of that. It's only a q6600. Just have so much other stuff, I don't want to reload windows and all the other network items on that system. May have to though.

I used a Biostar TZ68A+ motherboard with a 2500K cpu and used an older PCI gv 1480 card and everything is working fine. It's a Z68 chipset. I'm 99% sure it is a pci board and not pci ex1 capture card. Either way it's at least 2-3 years old. I put windows 7 on it. I"m not much of a Biostar fan, but I needed a board with pci slots for this card and Microcenter didn't have a lot to pick from at the time. So far though, so good. It's been about 3 months and it hasn't skipped a beat.

I think you just answered my question as well. I just added an IP Camera to go along with the 16 analog cameras. The analog are in an order.... say aisle 1-16. When I add the IP camera, I gave it postion 17 and it puts it out of order since it will replace camera 5. Any way to make the IP camera number 5 (or at least position 5) and take the old analog #5 and move it to the end....say aisle 17? I tried giving the IP camera #5 but then I lose the analog I think.

I have recently built 4 systems with both the H55 and P55 chipset and Gigabyte motherboards, I5-530 cpu's. All Live video looks and works great. However, when using Viewlog, the playback will stutter and even stop for 1-15 seconds and then resume. The files are written to the hard drive this way. If you play them with windows media player, the same thing happens at the exact same places. We have tried 2 different boards, different hard drives, memory, video card/onboard video, Window reloads, 8.3.3 software, 8.3.2 software and even took a known working card out and put it in and still had the same results. Scuttlebut says there might be a PCIe frequency issue. We played with that to no avail so far. If anyone has a working p55 board, please let me know. Otherwise, it might be best to stay away from these until they find a bios fix or whatever it takes.

We just use the windows 7 burner that comes with it. Drag and drop files onto disk and then hit burn CD. Simple and quick. Used to use Nero but this is faster and easier. I've started burning everything as an .exe file since it takes out the guesswork whether the cops have the right codecs.

I'm also running Activant (epicor) and was going to try a Data capture card as well. I'll be intrested in what you find out with the usb printers.

Can't connect to geovision using their site. Mine works but not their's.
-
I'm running either 8.4 or 8.4.1

FYI, I just upgraded an older (3 years old) 1480 PCI card to 8.4 with an E4500 cpu and all is working well. I had contacted Geovision and gave them the serial number and they said it was fine to upgrade.

Mine works very well. I've done everything you did. Did you double check passwords etc. Can you get in remotely using a pc? If you can, then you should be ready to go. Can't connect to server tells me it's at the server but the system is blocking it. Not much help here. I wonder if it's the phone? There is a new updated version of the app out. Give that a shot.

The 2500 (I use the K version since microcenter is cheap on them) has much more power than the I-7 860 1156 cpu and that has worked fine for 32 camera systems. My assumption is it will be more than adequate. The question might be can we go to the 2400 or even the 2100 and save some $$. The sandy bridge chips are pretty efficient.

GIGABYTE GA-H67M-D2-B3 It's only got 2 memory slots but i'm only putting in 4 gigs of ram when using Windows7 32 bit. I've also used the verson with 4 ram slots and that has worked fine. Remove battery, hold power switch down for 30 seconds, clear cmos and restart and set bios. After that, it's probably either board or power supply.

How old is your GV-800 Did you uninstall the drivers? and then reinstall? Or did you uninstall the program and reinstal? First screen that pops up with CD is to install/un-install drivers. Check that first. Once uninstalled, if you go into device manager in windows, you should see a yellow mark showing an unknown device. Then install new drivers and then software.

I've had no problems with the gigabyte H67 boards and the 2500K processors. So far so good. For 32 camera systems, what cpu on sandy bridge is everyone using?

IP cam doesnt look any better via android application?
Todd replied to RichTJ99's topic in Geovision
Did you set the picture quality to "large" in the web services section? That makes a huge difference. -
GVAView Works pretty decent. Using it on my Droid X.

Anyone got overlay with DMMultiview & Remote viewlog on Win7
Todd replied to rory's topic in Geovision
Not quite sure I understand what your asking but I can say that I am not having a quality issue with windows 7 using multiview. Both the DVR and remotes are on windows 7. In the webcam server section on the dvr, I changed the setting to "large" picture. It's defaulted to small. That made a huge difference. -
You sir are part genius " title="Applause" /> " title="Applause" /> " title="Applause" /> Got the system on the network to run and now for the home system. Things might be in a few different spots since it's 64 bit but hopefully that fixes that one as well. Thanks a bundle!

MultiVeiw MFC Application has stopped working This is odd. Whenever I use Multiview either remotely or tied into the network this error shows up when I try to logon to the geo server. It happens on two different computers at two different locations. It happens so fast I keep thinking it's got to be on the clients and not the geo server system. I can still use remote viewlog, I can log in with the Android App and I can use the webcam by typing in the IP address. Could a windows update do this? Suggestions?

I'm using 8.4. All was working well. Here's what I think happened but i'm not sure. I installed a program that uses active X controls with IE for Ace hardware. It hung up on installing the Active X. I think that was the issue and then multiview stopped working on client pc's either through the network or remotely through internet. I am not 100% sure that is what caused it. Second possibilty came from Diagnosing the bad hard drive. We were checking virus protections, permissions etc. I think it was already giving me problems before that but I can't remember. A lastly, it could be something completely unrelated to either of those two. I don't use Multiview that often so it's hard to pinpoint. I have reinstalled multiview on clients as well as reinstalled main system on Geovision computer with no luck at this point.
-
So far i'm a no go. Can't seem to get it to work. Get the same error. uninstalled, removed multiview folder from client pc. Downloaded the program from the server itself by running IE as administrator. Still won't run. I'm confused..... But that's pretty normal.

Weird problem. Had to reload Windows on my system and along with it all the other software including Geo 8.4. Everything seems to work fine except every minute, 30 seconds, 2 minutes the system will drop to 0 cpu usage for 1-10 seconds (varies all over the board) and then resumes it's normal 30-40% cpu utilization while recording. During that stretch, video will freeze and it shows up on the hard drives as well. I'm seeing this through the task manager. Uninstalled geo software and reinstalled, no luck. Not seeing this with other programs yet It would be hard to detect. I have noticed a fair amount of lag when using viewlog and changing days. It can take several seconds for the video picture to pop up after I click a time frame. That could be the 0% cpu usage happening. Haven't checked that. This was a working system for the last year or more. I did reformat all storage drives (the long way). I'm open to suggestions. Drivers? Bad Geo install? Board going bad? Hard drive going bad? I'm thinking of load testing it with prime 95 or something. Anyone seen this?
