GV use to make a GV-150, which was USB grabber and software for demo's. They stopped making them but there is a demand from dis. to remake them so they can provide to dealers to resell the product. So you might want to start asking if anyone has a GV-150 kicking around and if my memory servers correct retail on the GV-150 was only 200 dollars, ball park.

You can only purchase them from the distributor you purchased the GV card through. Each distributor needs to provide the serial numbers of the cards to GV or they could be fined. If you did not purchase your GV card through a GV distributor, then good luck getting a USB key.

You can't beat this mobile DVR for the price.... Many police departments have this unit installed and have been very happy with the product. http://cctvsentry.com/Sentry_mobile_dvrs.htm

Why I wouldn’t sell Geovision
joelh replied to heloder's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I agree with DVR_Expert_Australia of course. But heloder if you get a chance you should really take a second look at the GV system. Everyone of course has there system of choice and GV is ours. Your correct about many people selling GV on the web. But what is all comes down to is the GV distributors that allow there dealers to sell at those prices. There is no way a GV distributor can publish nothing other then the pricing GV gives them. So if someone decides they would like to make 20 dollars of a deal that is there problem. And the problem with people selling at those prices chances are they will not be in business for to long. Also chances are if you need support from those people, I'm sure it will be pretty poor. -
Hi Dan, Another cameras that work great are Mintron. They have great picture and great prices. Drop me a line if you want me info. Cheers, Joel

Hi BenR, Personally I would not use a "true embedded DVR" as most people would call it. If you are going through a reseller chances are if something happens to it the DVR will need to go over seas to get repaired. I prefer to use PC based system because almost anyone you know would be able to repair the DVR. In most case the only possible thing that goes wrong would be hardware. I have just started actively reposting on these forums and it looks like GeoVision is the DVR of choice. The good thing about GV is that they are always coming out with new and updated software, which is a good thing. I don't mind researching information for you as long as it does not take up to much time. If you have any questions just let me know. The main reason why I suggest the research is because from my experience from my customers, there are many fly by night companies. A lot of people purchase a product and are never sent the correct system they ordered. Anyway I have had a long day and I hope what I wrote makes some sense to you. Cheers, Joel

need input for dvr pc-based system
joelh replied to sjose's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hi sjose, We are also a GV distributor so if you would like to contact me I will also give you a price. Cheers, Joel -
S1 chips are the new security chips embedded in the S1 cards now being shipped by GV. They have only been shipping recently. These cards will not work with any software older than 6.0.5. Also, older cards will not work with any version of the GV software past 6.0.5. If your customer needs to have older cards support later than 6.0.5 then they can replace the security chip on the board. (V2 and V3 boards only). To sum up: Boards with S1 Chip: Version 6.0.5 or later Older boards Version 6.0.5 or earlier
