Ahhh You just dont use GV900 for 8 channels period. Like Thomas said its an overkill. Tell me this - what kind of environment are looking to install this system in? If you set up half of those cameras on motion detection -- you can use GV650 just fine. I use GV800 for really picky customers. The difference between 30fps and 15fps is not recognizable by human eye! Nobody except for you will know it

Help with A DVR CARD -= KMC =-
Sentry360 replied to magicray's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Rory, this is normal to leave out the mfg name on packaging or manuals - so you can put your campany logo on it and sell it as your package solution. -
Does anyone know if GeoVision has in plans integration of Network Cameras into their systems? I heard from multiple sources that it's a dead end and they dont even think about it. Thats my let down with GV.... Oh, well... start looking for good hybrid systems....

Sony has a similar camera. But it only has 1.3Mpixel and 7.5fps RemoteReality has one, but I think they only work with government - we keep our eyes on them There is Genex, EggSolution and BeHere... they are kinda laying low. If you are looking for a distributor - EyeSurround.com has a similar camera to what you see on this chinese site, from AAC Inc. But personally I would recommend a fish-eye lence to parabolic mirror. There is couple reasons to that: 1. Most important - parabolic mirror has blind spots (one huge blind spot right undernieth it) 2. Reflections of non-planar mirrors are generally blurred 3. Typically you have to place this camera right in the middle of the room (cant put it in corners) The only plus would be the price - mirrors are obviously cheaper than fish-eye lences. Other than that I just dont like this black spot in the middle - someone is going to be stabbed right under your camera and you're going to miss it! Anyway, you can check out our fish-eye lence cameras here.

Those are all rackmountable UPS.... I need UPS to go inside the rackmountable case which is DVR....

While you guys are at this topic I have a question. We are building our own DVRs and I'm looking to integrate the UPS inside the rackmountable case. Before we used bulky UPSs, just throw one on the rack and you are good to go. But when someone needs just one DVR it doesn't make much sence to do it this way. So any suggestions? I'm not even sure what kind of UPS would fit in the case...

1. Nobody is going to answer your first question - it should be in dealer section. 2. And I've never used GV900 for 8 channel system 'cause its insane - try GV800 at least...

You can use any router you want, or not use it at all - it doesn't matter. It will save you some time and effort though. When you hook up your router just go into its config and set up a Virtual Server. This will expose some port (whichever you select) of your local machine to the outside world. And then you can go ahead and assign your name to IP with DNS server.

The very best DVR card
Sentry360 replied to Integratek's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Personally I like GeoVision cards and their software. It's easy to use and pretty stable. Specially after 6.1 update, or even 6.1.1... They are up to date with their software and always working on new features. I cant say that they are definetly the best, but I just like them. Customer service has been pretty good so far - no complains. For a very technical problem I have even talked to a barely english-speaking person in Asia, some expirience I must say... In the end I figured the problem myself and had to explane it to them Other then that a regular PC is the way to go - just make sure you disable everything the user will not need, or you'll get sick of service calls... -

Are you using FusionDomes from VideoAlarm?
