Multiplexer & Quad recording mode switching

It won't record all audio channels at the same time, you can only record one at at time. Unit is a color quad with a single channel dvr built into the same chassis. We sell the same thing under the Vitek name. Made by AVC. We are dumping them out in a closeout. Not that good of a DVR but adequate for a low end 4 camera home system.

Almost certainly a Geovision. Has that sick green GUI that Geovision thinks is so hot.

    Good underwater color bullet camera

Looks nice. I presume you are not taking it diving or subjecting it to unusual pressure.

Considering how small the place is according to one of your posts you should get a bike, either pedal or motorized.

Picasso is your best bet. Pelco uses their boards.

    power question

Most of the power supplies that come with bullet cameras or covert cameras are either 250 ma or maybe 500 ma, far too weak to be spliced into and run any distance. Stick with the multi output power supplies that have at least 1 amp on each output. You can get them in mixed 12 vdc and 24 vac voltages if needed for a particular job. Generally the Altronix is the one to use, although Stealth is also a good alternative.

What does anyone know about this Company/Products

I looked at Big Wide at the Las Vegas CES and it looked pretty basic. I think it is way to primitive for what GSS is doing. Unless Big Wide is making huge software changes GSS dealers will never go for it. GSS right now is making big strides in becoming the choice of alarm dealers because of the compatibility with DICE and MAS alarm moniitoring software. Wonder what happened to sour the relationship (if it is true)?

What does anyone know about this Company/Products

I didn't know they split. Do you know which products they will be using. Their web site still shows all of the Sunjin products. I guess that is why Sunjin is coming into the U.S. for negotiations according to Rory. They must need new distributors.
  14. Great price. Much lower than the Vitek. I think the Vitek is in the $200 price range.

Nice links. Keep posting any new ones you find. If I run across any pricing will let you know. What about the All Digital Systems/CQ Max embedded pricing?

What does anyone know about this Company/Products

Good stuff. This is the OEM for General Solutions here in the U.S. Check out their embedded XP series, very stable with all of the features of the PC Based. General Solutions is really on the leading edge out here. If you want to check out the U.S. equivalent of the line here is a link. Only wish I represented their products. http://www.generalsolutions.net/ PS: I just tried the link and it is down but should be up again. Unless they went of business (lol)

    Embedded DVRs

Knight, the problem isn't your DVR, it is the general perception by the dealer base (fostered in part by DM) that PC Based units in general are dicey. For example another Canadian company that built Kodicom's, now called I-3, did a terrible job of building their PC Based Kodicom DVRs and had a 50% failure rate. I know since I was their rep in the Southern Calif territory and I spent most of my time fixing problems. They not only built them using low end computer components but then compounded the problem by shipping them in inadequate cartons resulting in freight damage to many of the units. Then they couldn't even include the proper documentation or paperwork. It was a public relations disaster. This is just one company out of many PC based DVR builders that have screwed up the market and give the PC based DVR a bad reputation. Add to that the excellent PR campaign by DM showing why embedded is better than PC has pretty much soured the majority of dealers on PC based DVRs. It is now a matter of perception versus reality and there are a majority of dealers who will not even consider a PC based DVR. So no matter how well built your DVR is you will not be able to persuade many dealers to even try it since they have been burned too many times. This has nothing to do with you or your product, simply a matter of smart marketing by DM who took advantage of the many early PC based problems and instilled a healthy fear of PC based units in the minds of many dealers. That is what you and all other PC based vendors are up against. That is what I'm up against since I also represent another PC based DVR and I see it every day.

An auto iris lens should be helping you and you might need to do some adjustment. I'm not familiar with that camera but like all cameras it should have a switch to turn off the auto electronic shutter, it might be labeled AES. That has to be in the off position. Then you should have another switch that says DC/VID and it should be in the DC position. On the camera their should be a level control pot that has to be adjusted for good video. You might want to check to make sure that these settings have been made. As for getting the whole driveway in the picture but also getting detail that generally doesn't work because the wider the picture the less detail you get. You'll have to compromise. Best bet is to have someone stand in the area of most concern and adjust the varifocal so you have a clear picture of the person. Also make sure on your GEO that you have the quality set to the highest resolution and the picture size set to 640x480. You'll use up more hard drive space but you will get the sharpest images. Hope this helps.

    NetproMax

Here is their contact information. Maybe something in the setup where you have to activate the cameras. Kodicom has something like that and if you don't activate them then it won't display them. Saves on processing speed. http://www.netpromax.net/contact_us.html

    RG6 versus RG59

Those are mini RG59 cables used primarily for covert work. About 100' is ok on them. Don't use RG58, it is the wrong impedance. It is rated at 50 ohms while RG59 and all CCTV equipment is rated at 75 ohms, so using RG59U will give you an impedance mismatch and cause problems. http://www.spytown.com/wepe825micor.html
  24. No. My Magic Radar DVR builder (yes even I have to have a garage shop DVR supplier) tried the Anykeeper board with the latest Magic Radar software and it won't work. We were hoping that it would so we could get our prices down but no luck.

    What DVR is this?

I checked the spec's but can't find listed a way to back up video onto a CD/RW. Does it have a USB port to add an external CD/RW? I've seen too many embedded units that have poor local backup ability. Also if you can backup the video is it self executable or do you have to load in software to read it.
