Never heard of them. Could have been one of those cheap kits that you would get at Sam's Club, Costco, etc.

First thing to check is if your camera is set to C or CS mount. I think that the camera you are talking about comes with a C mount adapter ring, usually a thin black or silver ring that threads into the front of the camera. Since the lens you are using is a C mount lens you will need to make sure the ring is on the camera. If not then you won't be able to get it to focus properly even with the backfocus adjustment. If you don't have a ring then you'll have to buy one from a CCTV supplier. They cost about $8. The lens is a 1/2" format and so is the camera so there is no problem there. I'm betting you don't have the ring on the camera. Here is a link to the instruction manual if you don't have one. Note on page 8 is a picture of the C mount adapter ring you should have or need to get and on page 18 is a description on how to do backfocus adjustments. http://www.directlvs.com/Camera/SanyoP/PDF/VCB-3524_mn.pdf

Perhaps you can use something like this. http://www.crowelec.com/memocam.pdf

I'm not sure about your budgetary allotment for this project but you should look into getting DSL lines at each store for the cameras. Then you would have faster refresh and it wouldn't interfere with the existing network.

Look under video cable link on this page for a coiled cable that contains coax and power leads. Also haven't found any other day/night dome camera. I did quite an extensive search. I doubt if you would find one without being vandal resistant. http://videolarm.com/polesaccess.htm#accessories

Unless you want to record on conventional tape, you'll have to get a DVR. The cameras are easily used with any DVR. I would post a message in the DVR forum here.

Get cameras with built in IR illuminators. They are designed best for night viewing. http://www.at-fairfax.com/Camera/Infrared.htm

Something like this should do the trick. Depending on the number of areas you want to monitor you may need a different number of cameras but this is a good starting point for you to investigate. http://www.at-fairfax.com/CCTVPackages/CCTVPackage.htm

Great, who makes it? My guys are going to Taiwan next month, I'll have them check it out. Do you think they will be at the ISC show? -
I'll see if I can go around and see them after I get back from the ISC show. Next couple of weeks is pretty busy with preparation for the show and the show itself. The product intrigues me and I'd like to see what it can do. Why don't you email them for some pricing in the meantime.

Looks like what we've been wanting, a Kalatel type unit with CD/RW. Any pricing? Haven't tried it.

Try a different brand camera if you can. If you are getting the same problem, presuming it is happening on all lenses, then you probably got a bad batch from the factory. Most likely the lenses weren't seated properly during assembly. Hope you can return them if necessary.

I haven't tried this but have looked over their information and it looks pretty slick. You might want to contact them and see if they have a demo available. http://www.softsite32.com/index.htm

We've had good luck with this model and it isn't too outrageous in price. Standard dealer on it is $660, far below any plasma pricing. It has both VGA and Composite video inputs. http://www.vitekcctv.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductID=118

Found this site and it looks like it has some interesting links. http://www.vsscctv.com/dealtools.asp

The Fairfax unit is in an industrial case for rack mounting. A lot of DVRs go into racks. It also has several cooling fans and plenty of room for more hard drives since people request as much as 1 terabyte of onboard storage.

Check out the VTR-DV04, near bottom of page. It has built in motion detection system. The only other way would be to buy a 4 channel video motion detector which isn't much cheaper. http://www.vsscctv.com/ProductDetail.asp?ProductID=486 -
I used to represent the line under the Perpetual name. Then the company made a deal with Richardson to only sell them the DVR so there was no longer a need for an independent rep to handle the line and our contract was terminated. It isn't a bad machine. I like the GUI for its crisp look and ease of use. If you want to investigate the company here is the site. You could probably buy the board and build your own if you wished since you wouldn't be interfering with the U.S. operation. http://www.digi-it.co.kr/index.htm

Are you a reseller or do you work for the factory? I think you will be showing at the ISC show so I'll stop by and check things out there.

Interesting site if you like to explore some of the various DVRs and cards that are around. http://www.electronics.globalsources.com/gsol/GeneralManager?&catalog_id=2000000011011&design=clean&language=en&action=GetPoint&point_id=3000000162556&prod_id=21710&page=Browse

Need to identify this DVR very urgently!!!

I just looked at the Integral GUI and looks entirely different. Doesn't sound like that one. Tough to figure this one out. -
Found a DVR with 10 FPS per channel...What do you think?
AVCONSULTING replied to mklavan's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I'd agree with Tim. The other card looks interesting but I doubt if they have the track record that Geovision has. Geovision is probably the most popular DVR card on the market and the support from both the group here and from other sources is pretty good. I would personally get the Geovision. As they say on MSNBC, I have no Geovision stock nor get any money from Geovision (wish I did). -
ATV has a very nice line of embedded DVRs. Here is one site to check on prices http://www.at-fairfax.com/DVR/ATV.htm#9Channel Nuvico also has an 8 or a 16 that has promising capabilities http://www.spytown.com/nunv4divire.html

Have these guys give you a quote on Pelco. They have pretty good prices. http://www.directlvs.com/Camera/camidx.htm Also this company. Both have Pelco at best pricing. http://www.metrovideosystems.com/distribution/index.html
