After using the EB1304 DVR, would you purchase another? Why or why not? Answering this will not only help me make a purchasing decision but any other potential DVR buyers as well. THANKS

Thanks for the replies. Today I got out a jewlers loop and a flashlight and did find a set screw. I was expecting a very small allen, but instead found out that I needed a very small screwdriver instead. I loosened it and the lens did indeed turn. It was all ready in focus for that distance. Sorry for the false info. Bad eyesight and inexperence dosen't help. I made a small sign (6"X 12") a put on some 2" high by 1" wide black letters on a white background and tried to read these. I was about 68 ft away but couldn't. I could see and read the sign very well with just my eyes. I was just using a 17" TV instead of a monitor I hope when I connect upto the monitor the resolution will improve. I even tried the digital zoom and still I couldn't read it. I figured that I would be able to read it since I am using a 12MM lens.

A couple of months ago I purchased 2 bullet cameras (KT&C-KPC-HD 230CWX) from 2M CCTV. I had them replace the standard lens with 12MM ones since I want to watch an area which goes from 75ft.- 90ft from where the cameras will be mounted. Today I discovered that the tech left out the set screws and glued the lenses in place. Is this common practice? I haven't installed the cameras as of yet,so I don't know if they need to be focused. At this distance do they even need to be focused? I wanted to get your feeling on this before I contact the vender tomorrow.

It's not hot glued but appears to be superglued or locktite. I am leaning more toward superglue since I dont see any colored residue on the threads, but a clear shiny area almost wet looking.

THANKS for the honest review. Rory, thats exactly the type of review thats needed for all of these units, HONEST,UNBIASED and backed up by FACTS, given by actual users of the equip. The community, from manufactures to the end user like myself all benefit from the sharing of this type of info. Even little things such as fan noise all play a part in the selection of a unit. Thanks again. Emil

I have been looking to purchase a DVR. The EB 1304 being one of those under consideration. But I have a few questions to any owners of this unit. From some of the reviews that I have read, a few people can't seem to get the USB port to work. is there a problem here with this unit? Also when using motion record do all 4 cameras record when only one is in alarm, or does the camera that has been triggered only do the recording? When using the motion triggering function, since there is no masking feature is it possible to set the sensitivity to be able to trigger on a person but ignore a small tree branch? A few people complained about this unit being real slow in transfering the video to the computer by way of the USB console. How long doesit take? Example suppose I have a 15 min clip that I want to put on a disk that I want to show to the cops. How is this done and how long would this take? Thanks guys.

Thanks for the input. Even though Ihave been reading specs. and manuals of different units. Alot of questions are still left unanswered. Some of these questions can only be answered only be handson use by fine people like you. Evev though I am use to reading tech. manuals, I think the manuals of some of these units leave a lot to be desired.
