  1. Is there any way to include "VS Viewer" with a downloaded file to put on a usb stick so that the file can be automatically opened on someone else's computer with VS Viewer
  2. Wow Korgoth Of Barbaria you are a star , I didn't think it could be that easy, unfortunately I needed to download the video via web browser or ivms as the dvr's are buried far away from the office where they watch/record the video. So I did what you suggested , I put the vs player on the usb , open the containing folder and the last file in the list is the player , I then drag the recorded file and drop it on vs player . I think this the simplest way to do this. I just have to put clear instructions on their desktop and hope for the best. Thanks again, you have saved me a lot of time !
  3. ...Waiting ... I have tried with vlc player which is easy for someone to install but its playback is very limited and not very useful to analyze a video clip
  4. Thanks guys , I'm exporting from iVMS
  5. Anyone, ? I need it for police etc. who want to view incidents without having to install programs to do it. When I worked with Geovision, the saved video file was put on a usb and it included the Geovision player , you just had to open one file to view the player and footage. Thanks D.
  6. We finally got it working on his Mac Yosemite using these two links Instructions ... http://www.hikvision.com/UploadFile/File/2014331153838155.pdf Download ... http://www.hikvision.com/en/us/download_more.asp?id=1281 It can access DS-7616HI-ST/A using Safari and happily runs iVMS 4200 Don't know if that helps you
  7. I have just finished an install of a 7616 hybrid nvr for a client that uses only apple gear , I put one new Hik. ip camera on the unit and he is highly impressed he wants to change over to ip cam's as soon as possible. The app on his iphone and ipad work great but he cannot view them on his Mac "Yosemite", so I'm hoping that a solution can be found soon, there must be a lot of people with the same problem, I'm a bit surprised that nobody else has mentioned this before now.
  8. Hi , I am trying to find a way to zoom in digitally in live view and playback, I can do this with any other ip cam that I have tried but it doesn't seem to work with this camera. Please somebody tell me that this is possible or I will have to dump yet another camera !!! D.
  9. To those of you that have similar problems , the solution is to start the rectangle from the top left only , starting from any other point will not work, I have a habit of starting from every other spot but the correct one and occasionally by accident from the top left. I didn't come across this information anywhere in the user manuals. Now that I've found the solution I'm really pleased with the result. Thanks for the help Securame but I could have done without your last comment, I spend most of my time solving other peoples problems and very often they are pebcak related !
  10. I'm using Firefox , I will try Chrome later , IE is a big no no with me , too many problems, just unreliable. I have tried iVMS 4200 but I need something easy and simple for my clients to use.
  11. Unfortunately this method works about one time out of 20 which makes it completely useless. Is it the same for all Hikvision cameras even 5 MP cameras, if so I cant see the point in having a megapixel camera if you cant zoom in, does anyone know if they are planning to improve this or have a proper digital zoom using the scroll function on the mouse . It's a pity about this problem as it's about the only thing I dislike about Hik cameras
  12. There is no need to change the ip address of your router or pc SADP will find the camera no matter what the ip address is, then when you find it you simply change the ip address of the camera to suit your router/pc using the facility on the right hand side , don't forget to put in the default password for the camera 12345 and save
  13. This really is a shock, he has helped me often through the years on forums , I didn't know his age but he always came across as a person of about 35 years old which reflects on his character, but the real loss is for his family, I hope that you will feel some comfort in knowing that there are a lot of people on this forum that think very kindly about him and feel very much for your loss. Dominic.
  14. Anyone know where I can get a list of error codes for iVMS 4500 , and of course what they mean.
  15. I was wondering how you guys set up / position your cameras and can see the image at the same time. I have got a mini wireless router that runs on battery power. http://www.instar.de/spycams-gadgets/in-route-p52.html I can set up the camera WiFi to it and stick it in my pocket and go anywhere to position the cameras using a smart phone or tablet. Anyone have a better idea ?
  16. Like I said "They can at least point you in the right direction and save time although they may not accurate." anyway who would go to the bother of developing error codes if they were of little use. I just want to save time but I will probably end up doing it the hard way.
  17. Thanks Abdel01, I have already emailed you but maybe you did not receive it .
  18. Who says it has to be small , it can be concealed in something big that suits the environment . You would need more info about the environment you want to use it in, and there are lots of cheap covert cameras available if video quality is not important , does it have to be ip camera based ?
  19. By the way, are you using the browser interface and did you find the little blue circle with a question mark at the top right, this can be very helpful. The browser interface is a lot clearer and easier to use and it has all the things you need to set up .
  20. You don't need to run a pc for ddns to work , the ddns client software runs on the camera, or you can put it on your router if it supports ddns, or any device behind your router , but first you have to register your domain name with no-ip or whatever ddns supplier you should chose and then put that name into the " Domain Name" in the ddns section on your camera. Also you only need only one ddns domain active on your network to access your cameras no matter how many cameras you have. When you have more than one camera you have to learn about port forwarding , but get the ddns working first.
  21. Is there any way to get a Chromebook to work with IP cam's
  22. Hi, Does anyone know if there is a way of raising the threshold from which the camera changes from day mode to night mode . This camera gives excellent image quality in low light conditions but it changes way too early and doesn't make use of these qualities. If I put it in permanent DAY mode the IR illumination will not activate when it gets really dark and when I put it in Night mode I have a B/W camera 24/7 I have tried all the settings and nothing makes a difference . The only thing I can do is put the Day/Night setting to "Schedule" and it then switches to Night from a certain time at night . Any Ideas ?
  23. Just wondering is this problem only with the cube camera or do other Hik.cameras like the DS-2CD2112F I ( dome ) have the same problem , I would like to try this one also.
