Hi Guys, I have a client who had a 32 bit laptop , I gave him Control Centre to view his many shops, on the usb dongle using v8.3 software, however he has now bought a shiney new 64 bit laptop , but V8.3 wont work on 64 bit, it needs V8.5. Now my usual supplier (C&N security) has gone bust, and I'm having difficulty in finding a new supplier for this. I have sent 2x emails to Geovision but they keep telling me to contact my regular supplier. They also refuse to let me download it from their site. I have provided the licence number , but they are not interested . I have to say they have helped me quite a lot in the past ,but.. Is there anywhere where I can download this , I am willing to pay for this , otherwise I will have to buy the whole kit (dongle+ software). I live in Nederland, I am trying to find a supplier in Belgium, but so far no luck.

hi I have recently installed v8.3.1 on 3x of my clients computers to facilitate viewing in Iphone. Iphone works really good, but now he cannot access "viewlog" remotly. I have tried but also I cannot view it , not only that but I cannot view viewlog on any of my other clients dvr's which are all running on v8.12.When I put in the password I get " authority error please try with correct id+password" or "unable to connect to server please verify its current ip address + port no. " I also get the " Remote Viewlog and Remote Storage System " option when I try to access a dvr running on 8.12. This is not normal I can access all dvr's on control centre including viewlog, although it is slower to access the dvr's on v8.31, somtimes it times out and won't connect . V8.12 was always very stable but I have opened a can of worms with v8.31. any ideas

Hi all, by the way you can use your netbook for multiview. start > control panel > display > settings > advanced >monitor . uncheck "hide modes that this monitor can display". Do not set any higher than 1024x768

I am so tired of my clients calling me about not being able to log on.I can log on using Control Centre to all sites , but some of them from time to time cannot be reached via internet explorer, At the moment I have 2x that wont work, I can get through with C.C. though, nither of them have had any changes made to them and updates have been turned off since day one, they run on XP, my clients use XP and vista to access the DVR's , any ideas

Is anybody having problems with dipmap.com. One by one my DVR's are going off line, when I check it out , the ddns program is running but it will not update, it says " you have entered an incorrect user name or password or your user name is inactive " I have internet access to the DVR's via " logmein " as control centre does not work either So far 7 DVR's are down, this started yesterday.???
-
Update ... one of the DVR's just came back on line... "update successful", the other one I don't know as the router is unpluged at the moment. At least I know now that this is a dipmap issue, but it would be nice if they posted malfunctions on a few prominent Geovision forums, or maybe there are just too many.

Try this ... Control panel > Display settings > Advanced > Monitor > Uncheck box " Hide modes that this monitor cannot display". Note the warning , but don't put it any higher than 1024x768

What kind of problems have you had, I wish Geovision would at least acknowledge that there is a problem, I have been wrestling with the latest problem for two days now, which is, that I cannot even re register , and I'm wondering if this is my problem or Geovision's. Both problem sites have an adsl2+ router (the others have not) Both sites have a dyndns account on the same ip address for a separate network camera (all port forwarding done) I wonder if dipmap does not like dydns on the same ip address , but this should not matter. If geovision would at least say that the problem is on their side , then it would save me all this detective work......Andy?

Anyone got any ideas on this, all other DVR's are updating properly, the 2x problem one's just will not. I've tried un installing and re installing the program, everything else seems to be running fine, Internet explorer + Log me in works fine. These two DVR's have been running for about 2 or 3 months

Looks like dipmap site is down again , this time the site cannot be accessed, it says "the page cannot be displayed". At the moment 2x DVR's are affected. Why am I and Benjamin the only ones that have noticed this, if the problem is on my side how could it be popping up randomly on different DVR's
-
All problem DVR's are running on V8.12. They all have been running without problems since the last dipmap failure, which was I think was about 9 or 10 months ago, but the strange thing is , only a few of mine were aaffected, and Benjamin is the only other one to notice it,but shurely Geovision must know about this.....Andy ?

you can use "dyndns", it works just as good , if not better

Update... I have solved the problem by " registering " the DDNS again, using the same user name and password and it worked. This is not normal as it would would normally say " user name is already in use" but it dosen't . These dvr's are used every day remotely, so the DDNS would not have gone over the 30 day limit. This is defenitly a dipmap problem, but I'm suprised that nobody else has experienced anything,...yet.

The nearest problem DVR is about 100 km's away,I was there today and installed a " dyndns.com " to solve the problem for the client, but I did not try another dipmap address as I was expecting Geovision to solve this problem. I find it strange that I am the only one that has this problem. I'm trying to make a connection between the ones that are malfunctioning and anything that I have done in the last few days with them, but I draw a blank.

Have you tried all of them, some of mine are still working, another one has dropped off about an hour ago. All with the same message !

I have a client who has 3x DVR's in 3x locations, and he cannot log into Multiview, He has 2x laptops running vista, and each of them have identical problems. When he opens the browser and gets to the point where you chose multiview, and press ok, it goes straight to "connect to server" and just sits there. It should ask for a user name + password, but it doesn't . He can access single view + remote view, and otherwise everything works perfectly. I can log on to multiview on any XP computer using his user name + pass. I haven't tried on another vista computer yet. As I don't use vista, I am not sure if there is some firewall or anti virus setting that is interfering with it If He launches multiview from the installed program , press "edit" and enters the ip address, and goes from there , everything works fine I have tried un installing and re installing the program but to no avail. Any ideas vista users

I have to agree with you on most points, except point five , I've always had a good reaction to any query's, and within two days,!! I have always had the impression that Geovision focus all of their energy on new products / innovations, to keep ahead of the rest, but fail to integrate all their progress into one neat package , it always looks a bit messy. They fall into the category of company's who allow only their engineers to design a product and fail to bridge the gap between the engineer and the end user. They should remember that the end user is the one that determines weather the product sells or not, bearing in mind that the end user may not be remotely interested in the technical side of surveillance, to them its only a tool, and it should be as simple as possible to use. Maybe Geovision is only interested in large companys using their products, who have IT. and surveillance people at their disposal, to bridge that gap, but there is a large market out there if they tailor their products a little better.

Hi guys , Just want to thank you all for all the support throughout the year, I had a lot of pleasure giving "my two cents", so happy Chtristmas + happy new year. Dominic

I want to use a GV. mini fixed dome 1.3 MP IP camera, at 8 different locations, and upload via Internet to a NVR. I only need 640x480 at 10 fps What is the minimum upload speed per camera/location. What is the minimum download speed for the NVR to work properly (without loosing any frames etc.)
-
Try disconnecting all camera's, reboot the DVR, and reconnect ine by one , and see if one of them causes a problem. I have had this problem a couple of times with a " one cable camera " system, where the power supply sits between the camera and the DVR
-
Have you tried un-installing the update, reverting back to before the update? or re installing GV soft. I cant think of anything else that would cause this if you did not make any other changes to the DVR. I'm sorry but this is exactly what I was talking about, no MS. updates , no anti virus , etc. don't fix it if its not broke! [GeoVision problem thread ] but then again maybe the problem is not related to the update,
