    Avermedia with AV8180

question... when looking at these cameras through avermedias viewer... how does it look? can anyone post a screen shot? i've been looking at mobotix demos and how you can "ptz" within the picture... but how does the avermedia dvr card play it back?

    Remote Viewing with Blackberry

Allen you may want to start a new thread.. since you dont have an avermedia card.. and this is an avermedia thread/section.. we don't want to hijack this thread with other systems.. post a fresh topic in the viewforum.php?f=3 digital video recorders section. Thanks! i'll try and help there if i can.
  5. ok so we have a megapix camera on the porch.. with cat5(ethernet) and power running to it... you have a laptop plugged in via cable(not wireless) somewhere grabbing the image via the software provided... the laptop has a HDMI out port... so you plug in the HDMI and poof the laptop automatically adjusts the screen to fit the TV. you buy a HDMI splitter as you want all TV's to look at same image... something like this.... http://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Powered-Splitter-Certified-1080P/dp/B00263D7A4/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1284523770&sr=8-12 then you fish the 3 HDMI cables to the TVS you want... i have personally done a 50' HDMI and it looks great to me... should be fine for a porch camera. doesn't seem that bad to me.

    Remote Viewing with Blackberry

IP is the normal IP port is 5550 (unless you changed it) login and pass is the same let me know if this helps also on the DVR make sure under the network settings... handyviewer should be checked and on the biggest setting and the port 5550 is default port and it's located under in Network | Main Configuration.. you'll see an ip address then under the IP is this port. (this port also has to be forwarded the same way port 80 does at your router at the location of the dvr. webviewer port for your laptop is usually port 80. and thats under a different section in network.

Anyone have the SDK laying around?

i've posted a message to avermedia's help desk and no response... but does anyone here have the SDK ? I'd like to start working on an app for Palm/HP phones. maybe try and port over the iPhone app and then make changes.

Anyone have the SDK laying around?

ok I actually just got the SDK to run.... this is kinda interesting.. it's a VERY basic windows app that just about does everything... so now i'll just poke around.... i'll post a screen shot of just how basic it is... but at this point i can prob just try and make a simple app that just brings back the Version number at the bottom... (clicking on Get Version brings back NV7.3) So i'll try and poke around on my free time

Anyone have the SDK laying around?

what i'm trying to figure out is if the averdigi iPhone app is a "web page" app.. with just customized html... or is it a legit C++ based app... what i'm thiking now is HTML 5 and the video element... (This way it will eventually run on ALL phones)and with most webkit phones (iPhone, Palm WebOS) They also both run c/c++/objective c apps... people are porting iPhone apps in just a few days. So whatever can run on an iPhone can run on Palm's WebOS with some work So now what i'm thinking is: http://www.pcworld.com/article/191030/how_to_ditch_flash_and_stream_video_with_html5.html http://www.w3.org/TR/html5/video.html But i just don't know where to start with the SDK the documentation is kinda weak

    aver.6480 and pos. help

The only other way that i can think of is..... do these have a "pole" display of some sort or no? The only other way i can think of is tricking the computer somehow that it's printing to a 2nd "printer" when in actuality it's printing to nothing but just to display it on the screen. Other then that all solutions only have stuff displayed on screen when something is printed to printer.
