Hmm, well maybe you or someone else could give me some info. I just put up one of these and the picture seems a little off. Could you tell me what to set all the setting too? I appreciate any help.
  2. Dont know if your still looking for software, but www.linovision.com makes some good linux based software for the card. Its $5 per channel, check it out. I used to use it before my Hik shat to bed

  5. Looks to me like the KT&C's images are more in focus and crisper than the Nuvico's. At least to my eyes

  10. hmm, dont know about the standalone, I will contact my rep for you and find out. I may not get the answer though till Monday. I'll let you know. ****edit , its Tailbone with the Hik card, I just assumed from the images you were using one too. But you have the standalone, its all coming into focus for me now...
  11. just goto Photobucket.com and create an account there and use a link. Also there is some great Linux software for that card made by linovision.com I had it for the 8ch card and IMHO thought it was great. you can put it on a 128mb usb thumb drive and boot from it. It has greater flexibility and is much more stable. Check it out, its only $5 per channel
  12. hmm, that looks fairely clean to me, not as crisp though, maybe focus is off. I used to have a Hikvision DVR card system, are you using the windows based software that came with it? Is is set at D1 or 2CIF in this pic?
  13. Are you living in my old house?? That looks just like the deck and woods of a house I used to live in. I will check out the other link, thanks

    heres a dumb question

check out the pm I sent you
  17. Ini, There isnt much for the IR to reflect on in that setting, do you have a day pic? Also, I wonder if these cameras have a back focus or if that is something only on CS-mounts?
  18. Ok, I searched the posts and could not find anything on this particular subject. I'm looking for a compact, weatherproof enclosure with a heater/blower unit. I see there are many of the ones that have the clam shell tops but they are all 15" long and I dont want something that big hanging off the house. The camera is a box camera with the dimensions of 7"(L) X 3"(W) X 3"(H). Any ideas?? Thanks

    Compact Housing with Heater/Blower

Ok, I found this http://www.octvsecurity.com/images/PDFs/Samsung/Housings/scc-hous.pdf although compact it does not have the heater/blower and some sights say weather resistant and some dont?? And I also found this http://www.amazon.com/Swann-Sw-C-Hch-Heavy-Duty-Plastic-Housing/dp/B000F66WPQ It also does not have the heater/blower. Any thoughts on these or another idea? Thanks

Here we go again!! Pelco Alternatives

Have you checked the classifieds on here? I have bought several cameras from Jack and have had no issues. I dont know if he has any that will suit your needs but its worth a look. http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=14366
  24. Dont over think it, these are expensive and you can probably shop around to find it cheaper but they have a range of 2 miles http://www.hunting-cams.com/p-21-buckeye-cam-orion-pc-base-camera-system-includes-1-camera-pc-base.aspx Thats the complete kit though. The cell phone jobs are cheaper but they require a monthly subscription. The battery requirement is your main problem. I could probably whip up a cheaper solution with a little time, whats the range from your camera location to the computer? Also, if you can take a picture of the area that you will mount the camera from the first point you would see the camera that would be helpful. Is there any lights at all in the area of concern?
