  1. All, I have a couple of the Acti 1.3 MP cams and wanted to get a lens for them. They have 1/3" cmos sensors. My question is should I get a 1/2" lens or 1/3" since both will work. Which one will be the best? I'm looking at this one http://www.fujinon.com/ProductDocs/YV2.8x2.8SA-2.pdf or another that Fujinon makes. Anyone used these or have any recommendations? Thanks
  2. Well, thanks again, I guess I will just get the 1/2. I figured it would work as the spec for the 1/2 on Fujinon's website say it will work on 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4. I just thought maybe these Acti's were special or something from what the rep stated.
  3. Thanks for all the responses, this is what the Acti rep told me when I posed the same question to him??? You have to use a lens that is made for the sensor, so in this case you will want to use a 1/3â€

At your house and inside your lan on your network you can not access the DVR using your URL that you created on DYNDNS or No-IP. You access it via the static IP address that you assigned to the DVR by placing just that IP address in the address bar. You are not routing via a domain name here, you are going directly to the DVR via your router. Off your lan or outside of your house you access the DVR via the web address that you created. However, that incoming traffic from outside of your lan needs to be forwarded by your router to the DVR. This is where the port forwarding part comes in and you have to set this up in your router. Like I offered in my PM to you that I never heard back from, I would be willing to talk you through over the phone on how to set it up if you still cant fingure it out.
  6. Suky, thats nothing like what he is looking for That system has only CIF resolution, BTW is that where your work? There are rules on soliciting on this forum.

    Server Crash - Hikvision DS-4008HCI

I had similar problems with this exact card. They are very particular with the type of video chipset that the pc uses. What motherboard are you using? In my case I had a Giga-byte brand of motherboard, the mobo came with software (which most of them do) for overclocking, monitoring, etc. It was this software that was causing the issue. If you have any software that came with the pc that is motherboard related, try installing it and see if that fixes the issue. Also, what software are you using with the card? There are alot of different types out there that work with these cards.

Ah yes, I remember that thread now. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Your right about the digitally enhanced B/W, is that maybe why he states its not IR sensitive? Going back to that thread from 2007, what camera are you currently using to satisfy this situation? **Edit reading through that thread it looks like I did this same type of research then and even posted a link Man am I getting old and senile or what I also posted for pm's if anyone came across those but I never received any. Hopefully by now someone has a solution
  13. I saw the video on Photobucket but correct me if I'm wrong, I believe Photobucket converts the footage to flash video, thus loosing some of the original resolution. Your best bet would be to create a google group and upload the original files there. This allows you 100mb of storage. Then you can invite who ever you want to have access to the footage.

Well, heres what I got from the company, I dont know why it would not be IR sensitive though as he states with that chipset??? The video doesnt impress me even if its only CIF. Whats your thoughts? Glen, Thank You for your email. The 9-22mm bullet is now the 3.5-16mm VBX-3516V56H : http://www.videocamerasecurity.net/servlet/the-83/VCSDVR-VBX-dsh-3516V56H-Varifocal-Bullet/Detail The camera is warrantied through videocamerasecurity.com. IR cut filter is automatic, switches to B/W in low light, but is not sensitive to IR illumination. The samples I have were on a portable DVR with 352×240 resolution, so you can't see the full D1 resolution with this recorded playback: B/W: http://www.videocamerasecurity.com/VBX-3516V56H/VBX-bw.ASF Color: http://www.videocamerasecurity.com/VBX-3516V56H/VBX-color.ASF The manufacturer and I are under a non-disclosure agreement, since this camera is OEM manufactured for my product line. I will say that one of the biggest automobile manufacturers in the world has their backup cameras OEM manufactured from this manufacturer, and the quality is rock solid. Thank You,Keith

I'm sure there's better stuff out there, unfortunately for this application the cameras need to remain not necessarily hidden but small and obscure. Not to mention I only have $1100 to work with (dvr and everything!) Its for a small town police dept's off-site property where my brothers a cop at so I told him I would do it gratis.

I here ya!! The company doesn't have a phone number either I've been trying to find out who makes the camera and who else may sell it but I cant seem (through Google) to find anything even remotely similair with all the same features and construction. I may have to take one for the team on this one and buy one to test...

BTW, dont use port 1304, use port 80 Glen
  21. Your 5th post and thats all you have to offer the guy??? How many channels do you need?
  22. dopalgangr

    Pocket DVR?

This is only 1 channel but its cheap enough that you could get 2 of them http://www.scdlink.com/files/specs/MPE1023BD.pdf Or I would go with the Avermedia one that jamac suggested http://tinyurl.com/l9exlk

    multiple LCD monitors

oops, these are the ones we use http://www.siig.com/ViewProduct.aspx?pn=JU-DV0012-S1 They do get a little laggy with 4 monitors hooked up though. The highest resolution is 1600x1200.

    multiple LCD monitors

I have used those USB - DVI adapters (although for your app you may want the USB-VGA) at work to hook up to 4 monitors (probably can do more just havent tried more) without any issues. These are the ones I have used made by Startech http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=usb+to+dvi+adapter&cid=16969941086576666613&sa=title#p Gefen also makes higher end ones if needed.
