Hi. I have a honeywell hrsd4 security camera that I can view remotely with the included RAS Plus software package. It works fine. I have DMZ and port forwarding setup in the router settings. No problems there. The question that I have is can I set this up to view in a web browser and then going to my ip address with the port at the end.... for example like the ip would be 74.142.231.133 and then :12000 at the end? Am I locked into using the included RAS Plus package? Thanks for any replies.. -Tony

Hi....I have no idea if this is in the right forum, but ill give it a try. I have a Honeywell security camera system that i can view remotely with the included RAS Plus software package. It works fine, but i am looking to switch to linux. So my question is in two parts. 1. Is there an alternative software program that will work on linux or am i locked into using the RAS Plus software. And 2. Is there a way to broadcast your security cameras over an IP address where it could be viewed in Internet Explorer or Firefox?

Recently after using a Dedicated Micros security camera with remote viewing, I was forced to change and decided on a Everfocus EDSR400 system. On the monitor it always flips to the quad screen image, and I really would like it to be one big full blown image of my camera one, but when it detects motion, it goes back to the quad screem view. There is my first problem. Second.. The image quality is okay and not too bad, but the remote viewing software is a java based aplet that has to be viewed within a web browser. My former remote viewing software was standalone and not java based. I really liked that one alot better. So my question is two part. Is there standalone or seperate software that I can download of buy to remotely view the images with this system, and is there any way I can keep the image on the monitor locked on full screen instead of quad screen? Hope this makes sense. Thanks!
