I went with Lorex Fusion, ip 8 channel. With the year end sale and I was able to get the rep to give a little more discount. Thanks again for your advice and responses.

Think I have decided to go with ip system. Too many different brands to chose from. I saw on here someone recommended Annke, Reolink and Hornbil. I am also looking at Lorex, Blink, Simplifafe, Nest Cam and Night Owl to name a few. I see a Lorex Fusion system that looks like what I need, Model N4K2-86BB-1 although I have read Lorex is over priced. I need to be able to control and program nvr with a mouse, no smart phone and would like nvr wireless to my router. Also I need one that will not break just because the power goes off, even with battery backup can not always be here to shut it down, no reason for this in this day and time. Need to order this week, lots of reviews to look at. Any recommendations is greatly appreciated.

I want an 8 channel system, 4 to 6 cameras. I do not need audio or spot lights, so cameras must work at night without spot lights. Reason for 24/7 recording is because I want recording of things farther out then the motion detectors pick up. If I can hook up old cameras to a device so I can see 24/7 outside I would probably put security system on motion. I have learned a little, I see the ip systems are higher $, just thinking in future the cat5 may be the only way to run a camera. Thanks for your response.

I found some posts regarding new systems, did not learn a lot. Since I have to rewire I think going with cat5 instead of coax is the way to go. Lorex may be the way I go, too many options. I am wanting a system with hard wired cameras that will be on 24/7, not working by motion, with an attached monitor/tv for constant viewing. Any recommendations is appreciated.

Is there a discussion on this site as to reviews of systems? I have googled many times but only getting reviews of subscription systems which I am not doing. I know I am going with hard wire and not wireless but would like to find a dvr that is wireless to my router if they exit. Thanks again for your advice and response.

Thanks, don't know a lot on the subject, will continue to try and find reviews on systems.

I see there are analog systems available and have found adapters for camera wires. I don't know enough about the systems or the difference, I am old school, don't have a smart phone. I guess I need to get more insight as to which system I need. Thanks again for your responses.

Thanks, will need to look up reviews on the different ones.

Thanks for your reply. I did not know if they still made a system with this type of camera connection or possibly adapters for the 6 prong connections. The cameras are 600 tvl high resolution night vision, which I do not know what that means. I was hoping to get a 8 camera system with 4 cameras and use the 4 cameras I had. I need to check the reviews of systems, do not have a clue as to what is on the market. Thanks again for your response.

Hello to everyone. I need to replace my recorder, Samsung SDE-3000N. I want to use existing cameras and trying to find out if a system is out there that will work with these cameras. The current cable from camera plugs in back of dvr, 6 prong. I am not sure if I will go back with Samsung. Thanks for any advice and help.
