I have an older Swann NVR8-7250 from Costco. It has 8 ports for POE cameras. It came with 4 cameras that work well when plugged into the respective camera ports on the back.
I wonder if this thing works with the IP cameras on LAN.
When I go to the camera menu in settings, there is a Search button, which, when pressed, sees a camera which I put on my LAN with all attributes correctly identified. However, there is no way that I see to use that camera.
My LAN and my camera network are configured to use different subnets. I want to move cameras to the LAN side off of the individual camera ports.
Is this possible with this NVR?
Also, I found info that this is a rebranded Hikvision NVR. I found a few references to its Hikvision firmware levels; however, none of them worked when I tried upgrading through the menus from a USB stick.
This turned into a loaded question : )
Any pointers are appreciated.
