qman replied to tclinch's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Well, you got 2 options, GEO (overpriced) or I-VIEW (better priced and better software) -

I went to the NEACC Show yesterday, and saw pretty much the same, but since there was no as much people, I was able to use a lot of different things. Onw thing that I was in was the Pelco Bus. Some of you might know it, although the rep told me that they have 4, and one more almost done. They where showcasing their CM9700 series switchers, combined with a CISCO Managed switch, and also using their FT8500 series fiber transmitters. Controlling them thru any of their different keypads, and hooked to their different DVRs. Now, pelco does not have the best dvr's out there. But the DX8000 did suprise me. I was playing with their COAXITRON stuff, and the image quality of those cameras you can't beat. The search funcion was really powerfull, expecially since you can drag a camera over to the viewing screen, and thumbprints from the last 24 hours of recording would show. The unit was a little confusing to use at the beginning, but once you get the hang of it, you would see how powerfull the unit is. Price is up there, but you do get a lot of DVR for your money. Can't believe that I'm endorsing another DVR other than I-VIEW

Where upstate? I am over in both CT and Westchester/Orange counties. Send me a PM

sorry, but you only can do it with PELCO Coaxitron, and you need a pelco DVR. To use a Geo, you need a translator, and it's going to cost you $$$

Get a $50 Linksys router, and call it a day. It will enable you to set it to "keep connection alive", which will redial every, let's say 30 seconds if you want it to.

I-View CP-1404HS help needed
qman replied to simyf's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Did you download the latest 2.8E Drivers? Make sure that you DON"T have the intel accelerator software installed, that causes the jerking on the real time boards. -
LOL!!!!! I meant that I reached 1000 posts.
-
Well, you do have US based support from I-VIEW, either thru me or The US office in NY. The thing is that video insight and i-view are two different types of dvr systems.i cannot say anything bad about video insight (thomas would kill me ), just that they have a different approach.

Uhm, why not CAT 5, over to a RX/TX Transciever?

JVC IP Cameras with Intellex DVR
qman replied to cctvron's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
To my opinion, I don't know why there is so much hype around the Intellix DVR. I think that it's a piece of junk. Expecially the software, so plain, and it has no features whatsoever.
