Damm, I look good in pink................ Funny guys, very funny. Anyway, to be honest, the best way to avoid piracy whether is a DVR, a piece of software, or even cd's and Video games. LOWER THEIR RIDICULOUS PRICES. I can tell you there is no reason why a board that cost $150, and a piece of software sells for almost $1000.00

Wireless Live video on PDA on local premesis only??
qman replied to ziggy221's topic in Digital Video Recorders
We have used the CISCO AIRONET 350 and the AIRONET 1400 with CISCO repeaters To connect or I-VIEW DVR'S to HP Ipaq's, and it has worked with no problems. You will need a exterior Yagi antenna in order to get better range outside the premisses. Another cheaper alternative is Linksys Products, but I haven't been able to make them reach 300 feet, with all the extenders and Yagi Antennas in the world. What type of DVR are you planning to use? -
Ah, that's not a typical PTZ, that's a toy one. The zoom is most likely Digital, and it does not look to be outside grade. You need to double your budget if you are looking for something better.

Hey Kef, see if you can stop by the I-VIEW booth, and talk to a Mr. James Ou. I know that they have a new GUI that's supposed to be released sometime next month, but they are already showcasing it. Let us know how it is, I'll appreciate it. hermin

LOL You can take it off if you want. Change it to whatever you want.

Complete Noob...wants to build a pc based monitoring system
qman replied to Liquid Cool's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
One thing, why going for a bullet? and not a day night traditional cam? Maybe for concealment? If you are looking at the Provideo, let me know what model's to see for you, I'm going to their headquarters on thursday, and I'll demo it out for you, this way I can give you a better idea on how good they really are. Ps.. when SOMEONE get's off their behind and finishes my website, I'll post the link, as I also have the same issue that I will be drop-shipping for that PARTICULAR someone also...... -
Complete Noob...wants to build a pc based monitoring system
qman replied to Liquid Cool's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Well, for the PCI card, I carry a I-VIEW card that it's only 30fps total, and it's also 4 channels, 199.99. I know that is double the price of a Eclipse, but it's a much better choice, and more reliable. Cameras you should really consider how much is worth to you to protect your property. It's better to go at it in a different way, instead of getting all together, start with one camera, a good one, and move on from there, as you can afford it, this way, when you are done, you will have a much better system that you thought you where going to have in the first place. -
I saw one of these units at a Distributor A couple of days ago, must admit that it looked really good, specially against a GE Storesafe and a AD Intellex. Picture quality was really good, and the search function was excellent. Wondering who makes the DVR cards for them, as it's a PC based System. Dealer price on par with everything else.

RS232C-RS485,422 Converter
qman replied to billm's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Sorry for the long reply bill. Check your E-mail. Well, the I-VIEW uses the Pelco "D" protocol anyway, so it is fully compartible with pelco Domes. You only need the Netcomm Module to make it work. -
That's actually the answer that I got from I-VIEW. There is a bug on the 2.8 software version that they just corrected for version F of the software due early next month.
-
Well, it should work, I personally don't like panasonic because they are overpriced, other than that can't say nothing bad about them.
-
yeah, they are basically the CNN of china. They must get a lot of hits by mistake!

Horizontal Lines in Video
qman replied to keefe007's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hold on, first things first, you should have used RG59, not RG6, the F Connectors are also a bad idea. RG6 has too much brading that causes the camera, expecially if it's a cheap OEM one, to loose signal at the DVR. Another thing, is the RG6 Aluminum braided? it should be 95% copper braided, aluminum let's interferience come is like nothing. Expecially on DVR'S, they are very very sensitive about this, and to make it worse, you used a GEO CRAP Card. Another thing, the video lines, are they anywhere near electrical lines? or Flourencent lights? I have found that if they are less than a foot to them, interferience get's in. Third, try using a regular power supply to power one camera, and see if it's ok, you might have a defective Power Box. Another thing, it does not matter if the power box is able to power 4, or 9, or 100 cameras for that matter, what matters is the AMP rating, so if the box it's only rated at 4 Apms, and the cameras pull more that that TOTAL, then you also have a problem. If using a good BOX, (ALTRONIX, P3,) then you are Ok, but if it's a cheap Taiwanesse, then you have to be more careful, as these don't usually have 4 amps like they claim, but maybe 3.1-3.8 amps, and they don't have a line conditioner also. Clean power to the cameras translate into better video and longer lasting equipment, which translated into less warranty calls. One more thing, check to see that the VIDEO cable is not "nicked" somewhere, that will cause a problem too. let us know how it works out. -
