    Snowy picture

If you live in York, then you should know a place called "Splash 'n' Dash", a car wash. I'll try and get you in touch with the owner, who has my line of EYECOMM bullets and an I-VIEW DVR system. The color in that camera has always been washed out, and the night time operation is much better than what you are telling us you are getting, weird. It could also be where you are pointing the camera at, sice you said 20 feet, then that could be the problem since that camera realworld specs call it for 10-15 feet, anything over that, Auto Gain Control will kick on to it's highest setting, which produces the "grain" in the picture.

    Another Saturday Night

Well, let's see.... *Went to a client/friend's pizzeria (Pakistani) *Took wife and mother-in-law TO a comedy show. *Came home to see that rory is having a date with his cameras, Dataave is getting it on with his fireplace, Kaysadeya is bashing the union's as usual these days, G22 is having one of those "I wanna be Gansta" daydreams again, and DVR-AUSTRALIA is arguing over soccer, like the rest of them soccer fans. *And oh yeah, making sure this forum is running OK Other than that, not much.

    CCTVForum

What er are going to do is sell advertisement in the near future. This site is hosted by someone that LArry knows, and basically, we are getting it for free, but as the forum grows, and it starts to take bandwith and space, then we will have to start paying for it, and that means selling advertisements. Donations maybe, it's all up to larry, not me, I just run the site.

  8. OK, Spytown is a bunch on Jackasses, they don't know what they are doing, their store is smaller than my living room, and half the time that you order something, you don't recieve it.

    I-view

I'm the one that covers canada also, I sent you a PM with the info that you requested. The CP-404 is the old card, replaced by the 1404ASE.
  11. Well, I'm not going to lie, but basically yes, when I first tested it, I was a little reserved to think that it could be done, but the real world FPS that I got was between 27-30fps recording.
  12. Unfortunatelly, that's one of the limitations of Stand Alones. Isn't there an option, maybe under the camera's setup menu to say at what speed to record that particular camera? Maybe a Phone Call to Nuvico might help to fix the Problem.
  13. That's actually the case with almost every major DVR manufacturer. I believe that is the "HINT" chip on the boards that make this requirement. "HINT" Chip basically joins all of the Video Compression processors together, most commonly the BT878 Chip by Connexant.

    131GIG LIMIT

I'm setting up a couple of PC'S, and the hard drives are 160gig, but when I do the setup of XP pro, it only recognizes 131, I know what natively, 131 is the limit for recognizion, but how can I overcome this? Thanks
  18. Hi Bill. It looks like one of those pico chinesse cards.

    IR + Cameras

Man, you are already asking for trouble.
  20. They have been around since 95, and the reason that you have head of them, not by name....... A lot of OEM
  21. Yeah, that's an actual recording of the Hardware compression. Software is almost the same, but a little more slower, no by much, but that's basically how good the unit is.
  22. 6K? The 1600XP is actually around that area END USER price.
  23. I-VIEW has the DIGI 1600XP, which is a stand alone DVR, 480fps both record and view, HARDWARE COMPRESSED!! I know that at the end of May, the 480fps 16 Channel hardware card in coming out, pricing? I have no idea, but knowing them, it should'nt be much.
  24. Sorry man, but you need at the minimum, a P4 or high end celeron is needed for a PC based DVR. Also, minimum is 256 ram, plus I recommend no less than 80gig HD space for even the cheapest card that you get. IP cameras are at least around 1000.00 each. A basic setup for let's say, a 4 camera system, weather you go with GEO, or I-VIEW (THE MAIN CARDS IN THAT ARE DISCUSSED IN THIS FORUM) without the PC, and 4 inexpensive color bullets, you are looking in the area of $1000.00 or more depending on what DVR card and cameras you get. I suggest to spend the week reading thru the forum so that you can educate yourself and this way you can make a educated decition when it comes to get your system together. Hermin
