Talking about cheap and unrelaiable cards on eBay.............. Has anyone noticed all the GEO cards?

That is because it is a matter of opinion. I am 100% positive Geo says the same about I-view. I think that it also has to do with the fact that GEO'S name is just recognisable, example, back a few years ago, PACKARD BELL was the hottest computer, although it was a P.O.S., the name made the sale.

Godammit, Datadave, there is no problem in discussing end-user pricing for equipment. You need to understand that this site is an informational site, but it got so big do quick that it also became a, how do I put it, a international Chamber of commerce. MAny of us, (and I would like to know who agrees with me), have found this board to be a inreplasable tool to our business. I had no idea, for example, who powertellecomm was, or who some taiwanesse brands where, the same way that the great majority of you never knew who I-VIEW was, which is why a lot of OEM'S and distributors (no names) are looking to get rid of the GEOCRAP and get on with I-VIEW. The reason for the dealer section is because someone (I think "dvr_australia, now "cctv_australia") sugested it, and we all agreed that we needed a section only for us where we get to discuss not ONLY prices, but business ideas and different types of projects that we work on, plus other things that DO NOT BELONG in the public view. And to say the last thing, not personally to you, but to EVERYBODY IN GENERAL, because this is the 5th thread today that I had to type to explain why we have a locked dealer section, and I'm sorry for being so blunt.................. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T COME IT'S NEVER GOING TO CHANGE AND THAT'S THE FINAL WORD ABOUT WHY WE HAVE A DEALER SECTION.

Guys, I have no problem on members posting where to get a particular product. In all honesty, all someone has to do is to send a PM to the other party asking him how much the itmes cost. You all need to understand that this is a informative forum, and there is no such thing as "Distributor, or Dealer preference". Only reason he made this site was that when he was looking for his OWN CCTV system, he didn't find any particular site where he could get all the info he needed, so created this forum. Now, I am also a Dealer and Distributor, I have 2 divisions, Security Solutions, who sells mainly to Other Distributors, and dealers, and I also Have Tri-State Computers and Security, who sells to the end user. Don't you think that if this forum was biased, and we gave preference to the dealers and distributors, I would be the asshole and try to take advantage of it? We all got to make a living, and I am not going to apologize for this. When you go to the supermarket to buy a gallon of milk, do you try and find out how much they payed for the milk? Look, I'm not saying that we all should stop looking around for the better deal for that DVR or Camera that we want, but damm, don't expect us to give out our trade secrets that took us forvever to find and establish. And when it comes to end-user pricing, it's allowed, but from Now on, please state that it's a End-User pricing, so that there is no confusion.

Hey mike, send me an E-mail, I have the I-VIEW PTZ that will work with the card I sent you. One thing to keep in mind is that you will need to get the netcom module to be able to control the PTZ.

It has to do with the material that they use, plus some racks, believe it or not, have to adhere to FCC regulations regarding interferience, which means that the manufacturer can only use certain types of metals, usually some sort of alumminum to make the rack, and that metal is usually more expensive than cheaper alternatives. At least that's the way it was explained to me a while ago

I, to this day won't understand why so many of you still put up with the GEO bull****. I'm not necesaryly talking about I-VIEW, but there are more choices outhere for a DVR card. I mean, why spend *** bucks on a 16 channel, 120fps card, when you can get something with similar specs, and features for around 150 less? I will never understand that one.

I can't touch audio, as is illegal here in New England, and it will become illegal in NY by year's end. It's considered a class A misdemeanor, and I have known of 3 installers that re doing 90 day and 6 months in jail for selling and installing. I know of one case in Colorado of a distributing company that was shut down by the feds 3 years ago for selling audio recording cameras and microphones. There is a federal law pertaining Audio Monitoring, which basically forbids it, unless in in your house, they have since adaptaed a ammendent where it is forbinden to install them in public and commercial locations. Do a Search in the forum, someone posted a link to the Library of Congress showing the acutal law, letter by letter, how it was passed by congress last year.

I got a Extreme ir85, for my backjard, 2 IR bullets by eyecomm, a smoke detector color cam in the front door, in a I-view sytem, plus a .45 Colt Automatic, and a 9mm smith and weson on me at all times. Not counting the .40 Berreta that I have in the car.
