Hey, you should also need to consider the fact that you might just need a better camera, some examples are the: Toshiba Ik-6400A ( I use this ALOT, and it's a great day/night camera) Samsung SND-500 Samsung SND-510 Samsung SHC-721 Toshiba IK64D? Some have IR-CUT filter, other's don't. But in any case, see if you could just get a full refund for the whole kit and look into these models.

He got a Kodicomm 16 Channel.

That's one of the reasons of why I dropped GEO. The reason is that they make the card for all applications, 4, 8, 12, 16 channel inputs but they only let it work with whatever you paid for, so in other words, you are stuck to whatever you already got.

What the hell is wrong with you? This is a forum created so that everyone has an opinion about products and services. Not a place to come out and do whatever the hell you want and say what you want!!! There are 4 posibilities right now 1. You are either drunk, or smoking something REALLY strong. 2. Something pissed you off, and you come here to vent it out. (maybe you have no business and cannot handle it?) 3. Maybe you saw something in your home's hidden camera that you didn' t like? 4. Hopefully is this one, someone stole your password and started posting things without your knowledge. Either way, I'm suspending your account until we figure out just what the HELL happened to you, you see man? people like you give us NY'kers a bad name.

WOW!!!! ALL HAIL TO THOMAS!!! -
Sigh, that was helpful......and expected. LOL I just have something against GEO. What type of Video Card are you using? And at how many colors do you have the settings done at? a lot of times, I have seen PC DVR'S set at 16bit colors, and the pictures looking like crap, they should be set to true color 32bit. Wow, actual advice! And to a Geo user Hermin, there is hope for you after all Well, I don't wanna come across as biased I just hate geo, great hardware, but crappy software. Plus now I hear that for their new version 7 of the software, even if the card is a day old, customers have to pay for a dongle? what would you think if you had to pay for a upgrade, when you just bought the card a day or so ago? Anywhow, Something else came to mind.... what types of cameras are you using? and expecially, what type of lenses with them? I have an issue with some Toshiba's Ik-6400a, with korean lenses, I tried rainbow, and viola.

Go with the samsung, I have used that particular model in other installs and looks great. But to be honest, I prefer to use a CRT monitor, better pictures.

Troubleshooting GV800-16
qman replied to fdan4817's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
uhm, is there a way that you could add the amount of memory allocated to the video from the BIOS? That may take care of the playback problem. -

No way man, I sell to everybody. If you are going to be in this or any other business, your support will tell how succesful you are going to be. So what if a DYI wants to call me and ask me a few questions about a product that they bought from me? that they are having problems and don't know what to do? I only make sure that I'm speaking to a person who I sold something to, and I only give him (her) support for that particular product. That they want advice on what to get for a particular application? sure I'll give them advice, don't cost me anymore than a few minutes or my time.

Well, that's geo for you. Should have tried I-VIEW.

did anyone see powertellecomm's barebone DVR board?

Damm man, I feel your pain. First things that you need to consider is the budget that you want to allocate for this project. The main reason is that in order to get a quality camera, you are most likely going to have to use a regular box camera, because of lighting issues, I don't know if a bullet will do the trick. MAybe a infrared tank bullet, like one that I carry might be an option, as it has 92 led's, at 920mm, which basically means that you won't see the red lights. Best thing to do is to take pics of where you are going to mount the cameras, looking at where you are going to have the cars parked.

Uhmm got me there

Hey hey hey, you guys have to remember something. What would happen if I walk into a job, and give a client a quote, and that same client, unknown to me, is a member of this forum, and saw my post telling everyone that a DVR cost 100, and I sold it to him for 200?? Hey, remember, you don't pay a person for spending 5 minutes fixing a problem, but you pay him for the years of experience and knowledge that he is providing to you to fix your problem. The same goes for us Distributors/Dealers, to know what to recommend and give advise to our customers when they needed.

Help with I-view software
qman replied to Praystation2's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
What card and what version of the software are you using? What you need to is is to set the schedule to everyday, by doing everyweek, you are only using the feature one week at a time. -

No choice - Card must work in THIS box
qman replied to fdan4817's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
The I-VIEW will work on it, with no problems, as long as you can give the video 16 megs of video ram. 1 GHZ and 256 ram is ok, just get enough hard drive space to save the files. Also, the only slowdown will be in searching for video clips, but other than that you will be OK.
