I-VIEW. Object tracking is coming out in April, plus there is one more feature that we have that most don't have, a panic button. Hit that button, and the alams, and the relays can cause any intruder all kinds of hell.

qman replied to Randy's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Well, the I-View includes a remote control the software, which could eliminate your problem. -
OH GOD!!!! I have replaced SO many of those DVR'S already, they keep crashing and high rate of Hard Drive Failure.

Well, I offer 5 years on my PC based DVR. I3DVR, we know that your company uses the Kodicomm Card, so your DVR'S is not that Unique.

Your best bet woul be going for the I-VIEW CP-1404, which will give you 4 channel input, plus it has a TV out port that you can hookup to your TV, the only thing is that you will only be able to see 1 camera at a time, but the good thing is that it brings a remote controller so that you can be at a TV doing this. Now, I imagine that the pc with the dvr is going to be somewhere other than the tv's in the house, so what I do in this instances is go to radio shack, and get a IR remote transmitter, the reciving unit would go to the DVR, and the sending unit above the TV. The good thing about the I-view is that it's not realtime (120fps), but in the future, you can add more 4 channel cards, so that you get a total of 16 channels, thus eliminating the multiplexer completely.

Just a thought, I know that with a PC based DVR we need to conserve as much space as posible for video backup. Wondering if Diskeeper would do any good on the dvr to defragment.

The I-VIEW also supports this, all you need to get is the relay/alarm module. -
The very best DVR card
qman replied to Integratek's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Well, to defend my Taiwanese friends at I-VIEW, they have a very good english manual for their products. -
Dedicated Micros have been around for a long time, just that I personally don't like their stuff.

And your weapon is a pack of Malboro Lights and Budwiser You should look at the Toshiba's IK-6400N, and pair them up with Rainbow 3.5mm-8mm AI lenses. They are great Day Night cameras, and don't cost too much, around the same area as the everfocus, the only thing that you'll need is a heater blower housing, which you should be able to pick up for an extra 50-60 bucks somewhere. Is a much better option than that of the everfocus, and will give you a much better picture.

DVR to access setup menu in Panasonic cameras
qman replied to G22's topic in General Digital Discussion
First, take a look at the DIGI series by I-view, then I can answer all the questions you might have. http://www.iviewusa.com -
Man, I distribute the Iview, and I WISH that the PALM software was out already, they are in BETA testing right now, I'm expecting them, knowing how the industry works, to come out in APRIL, during the ISC show.

Help with A DVR CARD -= KMC =-
qman replied to magicray's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Well, getting back at the actual topic at hand......... I-view is pretty inexpensive when you look at other reputable manufacturers of dvr cards. The I-view, 120fps, 8 channel cost 499.99, compared to the GEO v800, 8 channel, going for around $650 and up. An don't compare a 3D processor Video display with a DVR card, the cost of the DVR card is not so much with the card itself, but with the software, it cost a lot of R&D to develop a quality MPEG4 compressor for a piece of software that's supposed to run 24/7 without a hitch, expecially when you depend on it to be your "eyes" when you are not looking. You have to factor in how much you value whatever you want the camera to see when purchasing a security system, because is during those 30 seconds that something happens, is when you are going to realize just how much that little $500 DVR card is worth. take a look at the I-view: http://www.shscomputers.com/catalog if you have any questions, send me a note at: hermin@shscomputers.com -
need recomendations for DVR setup
qman replied to MamBo's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I-view is the name of the company that makes the witness series. The requirements are generaly a intel based motherboard, with a intel chipset, plus a celeron or P4 cpu capable of 1.0ghz or more. -
Uhm, don't know why is doing that, I mean, a quality card should be able to automaticly select how many FPS to give each channel depending on load. I-view does that, and why would you want 2fps per camera, that's really slow.
