PLEASE! Help my Mom not be physically abused. Please!!!!!
qman replied to helpmymom's topic in Security Cameras
Actually, I think that he's better off with a i view 4 channel in a PC, and 6 hidden cameras, I think that I can get him something plug and play under 2K. I'll send you a PM -
Uh! very interesting. I was under the understanding that the hint chip that's used to connect all of the BT chips on the cards was incompartible with any AMD based Chipset. Send me a PM, because I do want to take a look at the product that guy guys have.
-
You are not going to get a DVR card with more than 30fps to work on a AMD system. Try to take a look at the I-view, more relaiable than GEO, plus cheaper, several members have bought a system from us, do a search, and see for yourself.

The Freeview has the capability of managing the server remotely, like a "pc anywhere", which will save you a lot on onsite calls, plus it has a feature where you can connect to different sites at the same time. ONe notable thing is that you can set user names and passwords for different situations, example, the owner can do everything with the system, while the manager can see and review videos, but cannot delete them, or turn any cameras off, while the regular user can only VIEW the cameras. All this can be done either on site, or remotelly via the Freeview software.

Hi. The I-view supports PTZ cameras, and you can control them from Pocket PC devices. I just did a HUGE (64cams) (16PTZ) job in a similar setting, but this was a auto dealership (BMW, MERCEDES, FERRARI, ASTRO,BENTLEY, plus others), Auto Body Shop, mechanic shop, detailing shop, and even a performace shop, it took us about 2 months to finish, and we used 4 DIGI-1600XP DVRS, and the guards had 4 Ipaq's. What I did was setup a WIFI-54G network around the whole complex, and with their IPAQ'S, If CONFIGURED RIGHT, we where able to get close to 25 fps on the screens, very very hard to do, but since they had the money, we where able to get these wifi adapters from buffalo technologies for the ipaqs that supported 54g bandwith. Plus, on their patrol car, they had a wifi laptop, which they used the freeview software to remotelly view everything REALTIME. I seriously wanted to post pics of the whole job, but a contract that I signed with them won't allow me, but I can tell you that this was a goddam piece of work. Zyra, send me a PM on what you exactly need, and I'll see how I can give you a hand.

HI, I am the MASTER!! Well, the best thing that you can do is post what you want to know about the cards, and I can answer them for you, as the Authorized Distributor for I-View. The first thing about I-view is that they make their own software/hardware. By doing this, you can expect a much more reliable product than most out there, including GEOVISION, who OEM'S their hardware to different factories, which is why a lot of post regarding their products are for problem users are having. The software is real simple to use, yet a powerful solution for anyone looking for a reasonable priced product. One nice feature is their 4 Channel, 120fps card, which you can stack up to 4 of them for a total of 16 Channels, 480FPS in one system, thus giving you the option to add on as you need them, without loosing frame rate in both viewing and recording. The system uses either Wavelet, or MPEG4 compression, which you choose, and resolutions up to 720X480. The remote software comes in two different ways, one is the web browser feature, which downloads a ActiveX component into the remote PC, and gives you the capability to connect to different sites, plus to view a stream of the cameras remotely. The other is by using the "freeview pro" software. With this software, you are able not only to view the live video, but also to review recorded video, and download them to the remote PC. You also are able to connect up to 16 different sites at one time, and view them all together, up to 25 screens at a time. This is a basic summary of what the system can do, so if you want to know more, you can e-mail me at: hermin@shscomputers.com, or just post it here.

The very best DVR card
qman replied to Integratek's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Well, we all have to remember that GEO is mainly famous because they treat their product as a piece of candy that you could buy at a corner store. I personally don't like them, I find the I-view system to be more stable and less prone to any problems, although I respect the fact that Geo's hardware is a very good product, their software, in the words of the infamous "RORY", looks like it was made by a high school student for a class project. Maybe the features are good, but that DAMM GUI just won't cut it. -
Well, you haven't seen the I-view series of PC DVR cards, as long as you have a firewall, and a Antiviruz, you are going to have no problems.
-
Actually, yeah you are, 800 dollars is only going to get you a no name DVR, and that triplex is OEM'D by speco, i've tried it, and returned it, the remote image is GARBAGE!!!! You should be looking at PC based DVR at that price range if you want something good.
-
All three of those are honestly crap. Expecially the CU1, which is a COP-USA DVR.
-
yo man, where the hell have you been?!?!? You only come on to ask questions now? Just because your the big bosch rep in Austrellia and you've already made millions doesn't mean you should forget about the poor guys

Funny thing is that I have both of them sitting in front of me, but the toshiba's quality is not as good as it says, the IR cut filter only works when it wants to, plus the samsung seems to have a more realistic picture. They are both good cameras, but I prefer the Samsung anyway than the toshiba. I distribute for both companies, plus I now distribute to American Dynamics, and Rainbow Products, which are owned by BOSCH? not sure, but they do make a great Armor Dome Camera.

Got my hands on one today, does anyone know anything good about it? The remote software seems pretty good and the image quality also for a stand alone, I'm just trying to find out who makes it for them.

OOPPSS! take a look at this thread, is has the pic of the remote software in it: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=1480

I-view boards have a much better remote managment than geo. The Freeview software can connect to unlimited sites, particualy the best thing is that in ONE screen, you can have up to 25 cameras, take a look at this pic, this is with 4 sites running at the same time, in the same screen. Plus you have the feature of where you can choose what cameras if different sites you want to monitor at the same time, for example, maybe the client whishes to see only camera 1, 2, 4 of each location, so then he'll have 12 camera windows withinn the software which he can monitor, plus he can start recording and take still images at the same time. Let me know if you want more info

Need Help: Converting 16 cam multiplex analog to web digital
qman replied to sportster's topic in System Design
First of all, Welcome to the forum!! Reading what you have posted, it sound like what you need is a DVR card. The question that you have to answer is how fast do you want the card to be. You can purchase a 120fps card, that supports 16 cameras. But then you are limited to 7.5 frames per card. The 2 best cards that anyone recommend here would be the GEOVISION and the I-VIEW. Personally, I sell the I-VIEW because GEO cards tend to have multiple problems, and I had just too many headaches with support calls. Look around the forum so that you can see how many post of GEO problems there are. On the other hard, the IVIEW has given me very limited problems, that mostly associate with activating the card, which is a 2 minute fix, other than that, I don't have problems with it. Look around the DVR card section of the forum, and you'll see reviews from different members who have bought the card. Ok, the good thing about iview is that you can get 480fps via (4) 120fps 4-port cards. This way you have realtime viewing and recording. Send me a PM and I can give you more info. -
The best choice I have to recommend is the Samsung snd-520DN, IR cut filter, and will accept any size lens you throw at it as long as is a C/S mount Lens. Plus it's a little less than what you are looking to pay. I have 2 in stock if interested. here's a info link: http://www.samsungcctv.com just go to the color camera fixed section, and it's going to be the second one on the list.

PC Based DVR Setup Suggestions...
qman replied to spudz72's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
There is 2 manufacturers that are in top of everything, one is from a company called I-VIEW, and the other from a company called GEO. I, personally, sell the I-VIEW and dropped selling the GEO because of too many customer problems, as for the I-view, I only get phone calls to order more. Look around the forum and see what I meant, and STAY AWAY from eBay, none of those cards are good, expecially that PICO crap, which is a stolen beta software from back in 1999. The other thing is that GEO, since they are more expensive than the rest, has a piracy problem, so when you see a card that's too good of a deal, then it's probably a fake card. Plus there is the issue of support, with us, there is uparallel level of support, while with GEO, good luck, it depends who you buy from. So, check out the forum, and please I know I sound like it, but I am not biased to what I sell, it's just that you install it, and it works, period. -
Where online can I learn about CCTV & DVR'S for beginner
qman replied to INFRAREDGUY's topic in General Digital Discussion
Well, you are in the right place, browse throught the forum, there is a wealth of information for beginners and do-it DYF'S. -
Well, when it comes to the DVR card, I cannot stress this enought. More and more people have problems with GEO cards, expecially since geo is going AGAIN to change their boards. Why going thru the trouble, which is why I only sell I-view boards now, and got rid of GEOCRAP. Do a search around the forum, and see how many geo problems and how bad the lack of support on part of GEOVISION is. I-View, on the other hand, I'm not going to sit here and make a sales pitch, just go also around the board, and see what members that had bought it have to say about it.

I have the 2 of the 520 sitting right here, but just haven't had the oportunity to test them out yet. Will do tonight,

Well, if you see, the GEO is a 120fps card, while the DIGI 1600XP is a full realtime, 480/480 system, so you are going to habe a much lower recording time like this, probably about 2-4 days, but this is set at the highest level, which is hardware MPEG4 compression at 8 megs. Now, we set the system, like a geo 800 setup, let's say, 16 channels, then we are talking about 7.5fps on each card, which translated to: 24 days recording. You can choose different resolutions and codec setting per each camera, so let's say that you want the teller and lobby cameras to record at a full 30fps, but the office and back of the bank you can set at 10fps. There is many options that you can choose with the system to make everything work the way you want it, but like any DVR, it's up to how you set the unit to operate that will ultimately tell how much recording time you are actually going to get. This is why the DIGI-1600XP goes out with 600Gigs of Hard Drive space minimum, plus the other thing is that there is only a realtime Viewing card available if you want to make a custom system, the highest 16 channel card that is currently available is the 120fps CP-1416ase XP. Although I got a tip from taiwan that a 480fps card is on final debugging and beta testing, and that if everything goes well, it will be available at around the end on April, beginning of May. But there is also one thing to consider to all of those GEO fans out there. Look in this forum, and count how many users are having problems with a GEO based DVR, compared to let's say, not even ONE I-view complaint. Granted that GEO has a much larger customer base than anyone else out there, but considering that over 50 thousand people visit this site regularly, and many unknown DVR card question have been posted, that's got to say something for I-view products. By the way, the above estimate in recording time is for both NTSC, and PAL formats
