The 3200ASE is actually a Embedded XP system, and with 960fps, you get realtime viewing, and 240fps recording with no hesitation. In all honestly, when it comes to recording and Viewing speed and quality, a stand alone does have a chance against a PC based DVR. Expecially when it comes down to features. Take a look at the Digi-1600XP, new unit from Iview, have sold several already to Casino's and banks, I even had a client with 4 Check Cashing places for over for them, because he liked the fact that the unit could record reatime in ALL channels, and since it is a triplex unit, you have no problems doing recording, viewing and playback at the same time. The system uses both wavelet and MPEG4, you can choose which one to use. The units include a DVD-RW backup, and can be customized anywhere from 320G, up to 2 Terabytes!! The casino's ordered them with the 2 terabytes, and get around 45-50 days recording realtime. But then again, when you are talking pricing, it depends on the size of the HD, but they start retail at around $6000.00.

I went to the palm site, but all they have is hotsync and desktpo manager. They don;t provide the software, or what the call "pipelines" to sync with outlook, only what came on the CD, which I don't have Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ok guys, I have this camera that I installed today at a client's site. it sits in the backroom, it's a check cashing place, so it's behind the wall. I have a Manual Iris 3.5-8mm lens, and the camera is a photronics 327na. The problem is that if I face the camera directly, I look as a black, you can't make my clothe color, or my face, it's completely black, but my surroundings are clear, only If I open the iris high enough, then you can see me clearly, but the rest of the area is whiteout. Any suggestions?

Man, I got digital cable, so I have the DVR service, I just set the damm thing to record my shows and watch them when I get home. Why the hell make my life difficult, when 9.99 a month extra makes my life easy?
-
Here is the section, thanks larry!!!! I'm in the middle of a job right now, so when I get home I'll start posting certain rules that need to be implemented for obvious reasons

Damm guys, OK the guy needs something, but damm, don't make him go that over 2K per camera route. Plus one thing that it hasn't been explained is that if you get the DVR and Cameras, you should get it all from the same dealer, because that will give you much better support and compartablity issues between the DVR and the PTZ domes are going to be worked out. NOt all DVR'S control all PTZ Cameras. With the proper support from whoever you buy the equipment from, you should be able to tackle this job with ease. Plus for wirring, if it's not too far, I mean, if it's not going to be like 500 feet away, (you metioned 250 feet.) Use RG-59/18AWG wire, plus a cat5 connection for the PTZ controls. Believe me, it will be MUCH easier this way. I no longer use CAT5, as it is too easy for it to grab interferince, wheather you are using a balum or not. plut, I'm sorry guys, but it is CHEAPER. 1000' Feet of coax siamese, it's around $145. You get a 1000' feet of CAT5, let's say at home depot, for 60.00, then you are going to spend around $30-50 for video balums (you need 2 per cam), now you are looking at: $180-$220 for the wiring. Sent you a PM

uhm, assuming that you don't have any audio inputs in the DVR/Multiplexer, I think that there is a audio multiplexer type of equipment that you can get, I belive that the older guys here, who's been in the business for way longer than me can pinpoit you in the right direction.
-
Will someone tell this guy that no one cares what he has to say, since I don't buy from him anymore and I buy from Iview direct?
-
Well, nothing last for ever...
-
WOW, we got a no vote, damm, I didn't think that would happen
-
Jesus!!!!!!!! $159.99? that's cheaper than my distributor
-
Well no, this is primarily a informational forum. Everyone will be able to see what we post. I sure as hell want to learn Access Control. Anythig that needs to be discissed withinn dealers, will go to the dealer section, I am leaving the voting open, but I want to see how many of you actually want this to happen.

Go over to Sams or Costco, I've seen them for around 250.
