Well, I can at least start you off with this: http://www.shscomputers.com/Mic/PTZ.pdf Thanks to Sentry Security for providing the tips.
-
Depending on how wide you want the image, you would need a 2.5mm lens, and I personally recommend this camera: http://www.amebacctv.com/cc-2002.html Let me know if you need more info

Well, easy, there is so much **** with GEO, and with their prices, forget about them. I dunno why there is so much loyalty to such a piece of ***** company, I honestly am supprised that they have lasted this long. Just go ahead and get another card
-
That's true, we have a system supporting 64 cameras, with 2 32CH DVR cards.
-

DV baby, I had a demo of their tracer 2000 a while ago, I can tell you that the company is solid and do stand behind their products, the interface was a little off, but that's what you can expect from the chinesse. I haven't seen this one yet, so I cannot tell you about it, but at least the construction looks really solid, the 2000 was a little bigger, but is withstood a beating.

Some advice on Intellicam cameras? are they good cameras?
qman replied to squale's topic in Security Cameras
Well, if you look at the night one with no snow, that was last night, look at the date and the time, you'll see, plus I am now in CT, and it was almost -6 when I took that pic. Plus I have this particular one installed since last march, and it took all that rain, the wind and all this extrmelly bad weather, my point of view is that if this camera took all that beating, then it's good in my book. -
How long can you run the cables for video and power?
qman replied to squale's topic in Security Cameras
Well, to be honest, I have done almost 300ft runs on standard CAT5, not using balums, but just "splicing" the cable, but what you must be warry of is not the lost of power or video, but interferience. CAT5 tends to let almost anything in, so be carefull where you place the wire. -

I have used the Intellicam before, and honestly they are not bad, but the problem is that during the daytime, the colors and sharpness look a little washed out, although at night they are not bad, but I'm using the newone from AMEBA, here is a screenshot This is from yesterday during a snowstorm This is right now, after the snowtorm. Keep in mind that this is over the network, using a crappy avermedia mp5004 card, still waiting for my realtime kit from Iview. The one that is pictured is the SCC-4824 that we sell, I got it as a demo and liked it much so that I intalled it to watch over my 2 vehicles in my house's parking lot, keep in mind that there is low lighting, but here is a pic during daytime: -
Come on, I'll put the first dollar, and I got plenty of space to store it all http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=46974&item=3867465563&rd=1

The DIGI series uses both flash media and a DVD--RW, I honestly prefer the DVR/RW since you could play it back into virtually any DVD player, try giving the cops a USB flash key to play back a video file, better yet, try using one in open court to show evidence of whatever crime has been comited.

Damm rory, you got that right. The worse card they could use, plus the GUI is a pain in the ass. One thing is that the unit cost $ 7,500.00 WITHOUT the audio input Send me an PM and I'll give you more details about the one that I carry.

Well, I have been doing this for many years now What POS software do you use? -
Hey, I installed 8 cameras, Photronic brand, pretty good cameras, but I have a problem, I think that I have a ground problem where there is ghost in some of the cameras, I connected them directly to the monitor and I still have the same problem. I have them all running thru CAT5 wire, but I am not using balums, I really never used them and never had any problems. any ideas? http://www.photronic.co.kr/main/adc.html
-
using separate power supplies. found out the problem, one of my moron installers to save time ran two video connections on the same piece of CAT5.
-
You got to contact Intellicam. They are the US distributor for them http://www.intellicamusa.com
