I have been passing E-mails back and forth with AverMedia tonight for a light problem that I had with one of their cards, got that fixed, the interesting thing is that the Rep, a Grace Chang, provided me with a White sheet for the new products that they are coming out with, and that they should appear by the end of January, 2005. I'll post the link for the doc when I upload the file to one of my servers. [/url]

Well, yeah, they look REAL good and sturdy, and it was tested for as long as my "vacation" was for, with no flaws, this unit I recieved in may for testing and it's still going on strong, minor revisions where made to it, like for example, my favorite one, you can set it so that it auto-updates itself over the net, and it doesn't require a reboot to install the update. It has a RS board and netcomm module already installed to control PTZ cams, and POS data overlay. To be honest, I have no idea on what the difference is in the XP and the ASE models, I'll find out and let you know. Hermin

Ok, just so you all know, we heard from her today, and she's coming back home tomorrow. Aparently she was on a train over to the resort she was going to when the earthquake happened, so she had to wait 2 days to get to a phone to call anyone. At least she's ok.

Well, the one that I mentioned is also a triplex (my fault) and the last price that I saw it for was 550.00 with a 120 HD, if you like it, let me know and I'll send you to the place to get it from. -
Uhm, the problem is simple, another screwy Intellicam DVR. I used to use them, but they really use cheao products, just so you know that DVR is not made neither in Korea, japan, or even Taiwan, it's made in Singapore. I had the same problem before, and I was able to fix it, I'll look to see what I did and I'll post it back here. but in the future, stay away from intellicam

What does "almost" mean? Are you still having some problems? I'm having a small issue with the remote viewer, but other than that everything is A+ Only thing that I personally have is the ugly GUI, plus let me tell you, I have mentioned in an earlier post that I had a company burn me out with a ton of DVR cards, and that I was looking for the software, well, it turns out that AVermedia manufactured the cards OEM for the company that burned me out, and they are willing to replace the eeprom data on all the cards, and send them all back to me with warranty to the end-user as if they where bought new, and they are doing it for mid "2" digit price per board. That says a lot about a company when they are willing to go the extra mile with you, expecially when they are in no way liable for anything.

Uhm, first, the font is wrong, second centralize the items, and third, it showldn't be italic.

That's what I thought, but the unit is made by a company called YOKO-TEC. Yeah, so they are Taiwanesse, but we are talking about a home application, and for the price, at least in think that it's not a bad deal, oh yeah, it has a USB 2.0 port for attaching an external HD, or CDRW, it's a new feature for 2005, don't know why the website has not been updated yet -
The new software revision solved almost all of the problems, I have a MP5004, and it works perfectly, great picture too. (I'm NOT endorsing AverMedia, just sharing my personal Experience)

Merry christmas all of you!! Rory, remember that DVR that I showed you a litte while back? don't you think that it would be perfect for this application? Expecially condidering the price, $799.99. Have used plenty of them to back their quality, plus it includes a 5 year warranty. check this link, and you can also download the PDF info and Manual for it http://www.amebacctv.com/DVR-R204.htm If you would like more info, PM me, or send me an E-mail. -
Well, I got my 2 cents, how about one that supports a modem, but with such a good compression rate that even thru the modem, you could see all cameras in realtime. It would help during the sale, telling the customer that there is no need for the extra expence of a broadband connection.

Same here, I wish you all Happy Holidays and a properus and profitable new year!!

Let me try this again. A while back, I had a problem with a certain DVR company, and ythey basically gave me 100 dvr cards, but the software was protected by Dongle keys, which had to be activated on the internet. to make a story short, the company is gone, and I'm stuck with the cards with no way to make the software work. The older guys here know what I am talking about, but there is a whole new people here, so I'm asking anyone here if they know of a stand alone DVR software that would work wiht any card. Thanks for the help!

I tried, but no dongles anywhere on ebay.
