How to get audio from GeoVision Cam
jobes posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I have GeoVision GV-BL1210 cameras that supposedly have mics built-in but I cant seem to get this working right. I'm running CAT5 (POE) and but the camera also has RCA jacks which I'm not using. With speaker/mic built-in shouldn't audio be carried over the ethernet back to the NVR? GeoVision is really confusing me saying this camera needs a mic to work the specs say two way audio. Anyone have a clue? -
Does anyone have any experience using this auto tracking camera [edit by mod-store link removed] I'd like to add it to cover my fixed outdoor units to give me some movement. Its seems fairly cheap which is fine I don't want to spend a ton.

I am interested in that Panasonic WV-CW974 auto track. Being this is the only PTZ with my other 11 stationary units should I use the Client software from Intellicam or a standalone controller to control the PTZ? If someone could give me the simple rundown on whats needed that would be super. Still in learning mode.

Not sure other than my lack of knowledge I suppose. My other fixed cams are 1/3 and I just figured I should match those specs. Kinda like a pair of shoes. But it sounds like I can be wearing a sneaker and a sandle and things will still play well together.

Can you point me to a 1/3 unit. I cant find any searching. Well the CC2600 AT Camera at CCTVImports is a 1/4". I have a 9 camera system at a customer with two of these and the rest are all 1/3. No problems although theoretically the larger the better so a 1/3 would allow more light but these AT Cameras I have installed are great at night.

Thanks for the feedback everybody. Yes, I do have my other stationary cameras covering the property but I think this would be a good suppliant to what we have and then also have the ability to follow an event either automatically or by human taking control of the PTZ. Does anyone know if these are 1/4 or 1/3? All of my cams are 1/3 and what if these are 1/4.

Are their no other models around? I really can't find any other info on a tracking PTZ

Being new to this can some please offer some advice on my camera image. Overall I was expecting much more clarity for the buck. The camera is an outdoor 540TVL Infrared Varifocal (Intellicam). I've tried zooming and refocusing and I cant even see my sign or a plate to even identify a criminal act if I needed to. I'm trying my best to understand and if anyone can help I'd deeply appreciate it.

Backfocus?? Can someone please explain to a newb.

ISC-P540X from Intellicam

I'm going to try focusing at night and see what results I can get. I've tried zooming in on the focus and vice-versa also.
-
That's with zero zoom. I've tried zooming further in and poor results too. I'm using the zoom/focus screw adjustment on the camera. Here's an IR I just captured.

Hi folks I'm a newb to CCTV and need some help from anyone that can lend a hand. My company is in the process of purchasing an Intellicam system (G4-16RTA-D1) and we are trying to view the demo from active sites. I have two resources (yes reputable:) that I can access and we are having the same issue with both. Logging into the site and clicking the play button does bring up the camera descriptions on the left and that’s it. No video displayed. We have tried several networks using IE6&7, WinXP, and Vista (SP’s on all). We have had limited success with some playing on machines and we can’t seem to pinpoint the common problem. Although two of the many tested have been IE6 that worked. Security in IE has been turned down to low and added the IP to the Trusted Sites list even. All ActiveX feature are set to prompt or enabled. Can someone please assist with this. I have spent countless days trying to figure this out.

I suppose I'll respond back to my own thread. I've found a workaround that addressed this. On a fresh machine I connected to one of the demo sites and got a fresh copy of the "playm4.dll" in the system 32 folder and copied that over to every machine that either had the red box or could even see video in the web viewer. It worked like a charm. I don't know why yet but maybe something gets corrupt moving that dll during the ActiveX install.
