Netvision's Diskmanage drive configure tool
rocko_mtv replied to rocko_mtv's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I got it from Alex at Allied Video Surveillance in Virginia. Call 1-800-691-1034 to inquire. Many many thanks to you for your help. I am used to Geovision DVR's and they show the % of space left versus % used. I spun my wheel all day and it turned out to be a brain fart on my part -

The machine previously had ver. 5.01 and that version showed the drives available in the setup mode in the top middle section. This version doesn't. Is that normal for this version? -

Thanks JD - Configured the way it is shown and after a reboot the DVR sys still indicates 0% space available. When will it show the real amount available? -

Hi JD, Happy new year! I may need to change the b/u format? How we looking now JD? -
shut down the geovision program and then run the database repair program in the GV folder shown below.

From my experience with CV2 this is a normal thing. I have to ask why you would want to go out to the www when you are monitoring on local anyway? Other than testing your dns updater? Seems it would just be a process thats un-necessary?

Actually they did eliminate this feature in 8.3 Try using the "Multiview" feature via Internet Explorer. You can add multiple DVR's after you configure the first one you log on to. You should notice better image quality with less latency also versus the old multiview program.

Shut down GV program. Uninstall previous version from Geovision program folder. Leave ALL files if prompted. Reboot. Install new version to same file path. Reboot. Everything should still be configured as before.

Have you configured any "port forwarding" in the router for the DVR? Usually a minimum of 2 ports are needed to be setup. One for the DVR's webserver (typically port 80) and the other for control.

In your IE8 Internet options section do you have "prompt for activeX" checked or is it disabled? I am not sure if DVR8800 uses activeX? But compare that to the IE 7 internet options activeX section. That may be all thats needed

Netvision's Diskmanage drive configure tool

hello, I have an Allied Video Surveillance DVR that has 2 Digivision 4016HC capture cards (2x16). I had to replace a defective HD for the OS. Everything works fine. The install went flawless. But, I do not know how to configure the Diskmanage "New Data Package" section for the record path. This system pre-configures the drive and reserves the space for the incoming video/audio data. When I use the amount it defaults to the DVR GUI shows zero % of drive space left to record to. This is my first experience with this brand so this may be normal? But, I need to be sure. Here is the screen shot of what I am referring to: Thanks in advance, Rick H. -
I use the DynDns and their client updaters on over 30 DVR's and can say they work flawlessly. DynDns = Two Thumbs up!

Wow, you must have a lot of time on your hands. Not sure anyone can answer or help you considering it is "custom" software you are attempting to use on a GV card. How could anyone experience the same problem since it is custom? When it's a video problem I always ask this first, "Do you have the latest DirectX 9c plug-in installed?" Lastly, why not just modify the GV software to your liking? They have a SDK available. Plus they have awesome support. I also get tremendous support from my Geovision distributor Sentry Security Systems in Kingston, On.

I really didn't think it got any easier to use than Geovision? My custys love how intuitive the GUI's are. I set them up with both RPB and Multicam desktop icons and with a couple of mouse clicks they are watching "live" or archived video in a matter of moments with no problems. I have not had any complaints from the end user in five years with Geovision. If you can setup one port forward properly - forwarding more ports shouldn't be any problem. You already mentioned the great video quality. Ditto.
