IF ANYONE CAN HELP ID APPRECIATE IT. ID LIKE TO PLUG MY SYSTEM INTO 4 KNOWN GOOD CAMERAS AND A KNOWN GOOD 4 WAY POWER SUPPLY, TO SEE IF THE NEW UNIT IVE PURCHASED IS FAULTY OR NOT. (I'm slightly concerned my 4way power supply is only 2 amp and not 5amp as on the box, but it's been like that 5 years and I've only just noticed - its what came with it as new!) Hi I have an Oyn-x (Qvis) Nitro x3 8 channel with 2mp cameras. Which recently died and was showing the blue light flashing on the front. I replaced the system with a new Oyn-x Nitro x4 4 channel 1 TB. On connection it appears I have interference which can be horizontal or ghosting or both, depending on how many cameras are on the system and what channels are used. The more cameras I put on the worse it gets even if I swap camers around or use a spare camera with new cables. Though if I don't use channel 3 it seems OK. The interference almost always shows on channel 3 only and I've tried every camera I have on it. I have taken some cameras down and connected them via new leads to try and eliminate any possible cable or camera problems. I have managed to get certain channels to work OK up to 3 in different combinations and had 4 working for a while until what could possibly be a ground loop affect seems to build. I have the same 4 way power supply which is 12v 2amp feeding the cameras. This came with the original unit 5 years ago. I have noticed that on the box it states it should of been a 12v 5amp 4 way, so it seems it's never had the correct supply. The power supply for the dvr is separate to the 4 way power supply on the cameras. The original system worked fine when I first had it, but occasionally one camera would drop out and I would have to pull the power connection plugs apart and reconnect till I found the right camera and it would come back on. After 4 years or so the unit started to get interference showing on two channels but all channels seem to ghost over channels 1 and 3, which had the interference. This would go if I removed the power supply to the dvr. Then the interference would build up and return after a few days. The usb on the front stopped working also, plus certain other strange things. I've tried moving cables away from power and even the unit. I've not purchased any ground loop filters or anything yet, but I'm wondering if either the power supply has never been good enough or my new unit is faulty.
