  1. I am looking to replace the current recording solution. One that I have is currently a PC based Nuuo Mainconsole. It has become impossible to operate due to its property that it stops recording unexpectedly and the support refuses to resolve this. First, I need to decide whether a dedicated NVR or PC solution is better. I am inclined to PC due to the flexibility it offers but maybe it is the wrong (biased) approach. We are currently operating 15 cameras with resolutions 2k, FullHD or standard analogous converted to IP. All running at 25FPS. I am using multiple streams as long as the cameras allow that. The brands vary, some great Sony ones, AV Tech (no longer existing), Hikvision, and Dahua (maybe some other brand that I am forgetting, the point is that the system is not made of a single brand). They all run in a dedicated network completely (physically) separated from the main computer network (only the PC with Nuuo mainconsole is connected to the main network). I want to be able to expand the cameras, currently we need at least 3 more, all will be IP cameras, I have not decided on the brand yet, but I want to avoid Dahua as the ones that we have proved of poor quality when it comes to longterm use (yellowing of optics on all Dahuas being the most concerning issue). I have no need to connect analogous signal to the recording device. I require at least a week of retention with possibility of 1 month and I need all access to recordings audited (legal issues - EU). I also require the ability to catch signal from security system which subsystem has been intruded and rotate PTZ to that position. One thing I really like about Nuuo is the huge number of supported cameras and ability to recognize them and support their multistreaming. This makes the configuration very easy. It seems that it is not always the case. Another thing that we have implemented using Nuuo is that if there is an alarm on our security subsystem, it sends a signal to the computer which subsystem has been penetrated and PTZ cameras will look in that area. I would like to keep this feature. Can you suggest which way to go: NVR or PC. If NVR, which brand to obtain the wide camera support that I need? If PC, which recording software? Any other notes or suggestions are welcome. Note this is not home application, rather industrial complex being guarded by CCTV. Bonuses are LPR, possibility of face recognition, intruder tracking, counting of people crossing boundaries, etc (I do not use all, but the ability should be there in case it is needed).
