    CCTV on iphone

I install cctv equipement and everyone wants to remote view using their blackberry or iphone I was able to use orb to remote view the cameras but orb is just a tv viewer file sharer so I had to modulate the channels I wanted to use (PTz) and then find channels that modulated well...For instances you might have four channels you might want to view and using a four channel modulator one channel might be 71 the next 81 the next 91 and the last 101 anyways it worked and orb worked ok but it was not dependable another dvr company that I use which is very cheap compared to everfocus or dedicated micros has the app for free and it works friggin increadbible avtech is the dvr manufacture and the app is eagleeyes through the app store my price on a 4 channel dvr h264 is 300 bucks with a 500gb and with these features.... well worth it r

    first installation questions

I'm wondering if i could test by simply pluging the audio mic rca into the tv where the pvr is I'm not certain how the pvr works if it has to be on one particular camera for the microphone to work? I would think if it's in a 4 way split screen than audio wouldn't be on? I want to use this setup with a slingbox so maybe the microphone with built in preamp is the ticket and I could use it simply as the audio input on the slingbox along with the 4 up screen of the security camera I know what you're thinking I should just use the network interface but the owners want the convience of use the slingbox to control tivo, cable, and security btw I'm using one of those convert motion detector spy cameras for this application again thanks for the help it's been very helpful richie

thanks for the help guys I did the wiring today and tomorrow I will put in the camera/microphone and see how it works I will use an f-connector to rca at the camera end and twist on bnc for the pvr end I assume the center of the rca for the microphone to be possitive? thanks for the help richie
  6. I'm installing a 4th camera on a existing cctv setup I have a few questions: The distance between the dvr and camera location is about 150 feet is that fine with rg59? The camera that I'm using for this installation has audio output is rg59 the standard transport for this type of signal and is there any loss with 150 feet of cable? Lastly if I use siameese rg59 for video and power what type of power supply voltage would i need to start off with to get 12volts and 150 ma 150 feet away on rg59? thanks for all help in advance richie
  7. I do installation many with satellite equipment and yes you can tell after a while simply by looking many for me rg59 and rg6 rg6 is a lot bigger and you cannot use a rg59 compression connector on a rg6 wire r
