    Kodicom software?

4.12 is the last version ? or there are something newer ?
  6. thank you for your valuable information. anyone can share they experience with the other software that can have separate pal/NTSC on separate chanels ? (i'm living in PAL country, but recently got myself few NTSC cameras and looking at chinese version of KODICOM 120 FPS board) (other option is anykeeper)
  7. strange. never saw card that specifically states it's PAL or NTSC. I just was planing to by cameras in US and DVR card in UK...
  8. dude, site www.cctv-king.com is DEAD
  9. this "a little more $$$ for geovision or i-vrew" usualy mean around 10 times more. all these manufactures and distributors talk about crappy chinese made hardware... IMHO it's nonsence. hardware is pritty mutch the same if not identical. the problem may be only in software. another argument I saw in there that what you can't make relayable hardware for 10$ or 100$ or whaterver $. actual manufacturing and pard for GV1000 can't cost more thant 100$-150$ everything else is what you pay for name, designe, software & stuff. anyway. I know my Eanglish isn't very good, but I hope you understood me P.S. currently I'm still in the market for DVR card (for my own home). I'm trying to make my mind between 120$ WDT-2016 knock off and 35$ pico some of you spoke so low on this forums so, is there anyone who REALLY TRIED any of these cards ? or you just trying to be smart and push your stuff ?
  10. for some cards I saw description different resolution for PAL and NTSC standart. maybe this is the case ?

    *nix

good linux dirstribution (like suse) cost you some $$$ too Best (free) unix distro for "general" use is FreeBSD (used for about 10 years now). for security reasons: OpenBSD. Best (free) linux distro: debian (just go for testing not stable). (currently have on couple of my servers) Best comercial linux distro: suse there are handfull of floppy distros used for routers. if you don't have good linux/unix admin just forget using linux/unix based systems. It will be cheaper for you to by windows than adapt, configure etc linux system. misconfigured linux/unix can be higher security risk than misconfigured windos P.S. all BEST are IMHO P.P.S. I'm no big bill fan (only 2 out of 5 my own systems use windows) but for general public and small businesses is usualy cheaper to stay with current windows config. if you are going to make DVR systems linux based is quit another storry (in this case *nix may be worth looking at)

  15. Hi everyone, I’m in the process of purchasing my first hose, so now I’m looking into surveillance systems. Hose is in far away suburbs where usually is deserted during daytime. Being a computer freak I’m looking for PC bases system. Ho I imagine ideal system for myself: In general I’m looking for about 60-120 fps 8-16 channels DVR card with “smartâ€
  16. Currently I don’t have any brand preferences myself (it will be my first, and most likely last system I’ll build). I just don’t want to buy any noname, product, but I don’t like to pay lots just for brand name. thank you for your info about Geo. It is very useful. Still hope to find cheaper product to meat my needs.
  17. Actually, the main price difference came form fact that video cards are mainstream product, and DVR card isn’t.. Software costs just add up to this fact. It is considerably cheaper (per unit) to produce 10 milions than 10 thousands.
  18. This software you are using, PDAVIEWPRO is for windows mobile only or available for PalmOS also ? (currently I'm in the market for PC based DVR system, and posibility to view/control it from my PDA (Palm T3) woulde be a great bonus.
  19. Looked at your web site. Pricing looks more reasonable than GV cards with similar parameters. Just wondering maybe do you have any DVR cards with lower FPS ? (60 GPS and 8 cameras would be enough for me) couple more related questions: The page describing the 8 port card looks strange. It talks about some embled os (In the card ?) and in the bottom of the picture stand alone system already. Maybe you can give me link to manufacture page with specifications and if available links to manuals. Also question about cameras. The selection shown in your web is all you carry?
