    Camera Vendors

I've bought most of my Cameras from SuperCircuits and had pretty decent luck with them. I've search the forum and ready about better options out there for the money. Do we have any vendors on here that give me some prices on a couple of IR cameras with a WIDE viewing angle?
  2. I'm adding a few more cameras to fill out my 8 channel dvr. Two that I'm adding is across a paved parking lot that I can not get video cable to. What is my best option? Wireless Transmitter? For one of the two, it is possible to run a cable around the end to that corner, but I only have one cable to get there? Could I integrate two Cameras into one cable? I've attached a paint drawing of my situation. Thanks in advance for your help! **Between Cam1 & Cam 2 the parking lot ends and is gravel, so I can run cable thru conduit in a ditch if possible.
  3. Well, I've got one working. I'm not sure if a coaxial got broke when I pulled it, or I messed up a compression connector, or a bad camera.. Either way, it's going to be a pain to test/debug. I now have my labor day planned out.
  4. Are these two compatible? I'm not having any luck to getting the PTZ working with this DVR. It worked great until I switched from my Merit LiLin DVR to my new Avermedia. DVR: EH5108H* PTZ: Li-Lin PIH-7000NL I've used the LiLin protocol, along with Pelco D & P. Baud rate is 9600, ID I'm assuming is 1. Any help is appreciated.

LiLin PTZ Camera and AverMedia DVR

We'll the LiLin works fine now with the DVR. I'm actually using the LiLin protocol as neither Pelco D or P worked. I'll update that firmware today. Thanks Tom.

hi on the aver EH5108H you dont use any converters. you have your PTZ pluged into the POS data. you plug your ptz camera into tx+ tx- on the back of your dvr. Wow. I feel like an idiot now!! I'm going to the office and see if it works.. Thank you Tom. You've helped me out A LOT on the forums!

LiLin PTZ Camera and AverMedia DVR

I think I've come to the concluesion the RS232-485 Converter isn't working right. I've tried everything. Yes I'm going direct with the +/- . Wiring are the same on both sides also.
  8. I ordered the Forsight product. I began running the cabling last night. Now, waiting to get a trencher for my ditches and get my conduit installed. Should have it going By middle of next week.. Thanks everyone for your help!
  9. I've having some issues being able to view my DVR over the remote network. It's connected to a DSL Router/Gateway. I've port fowarded 80 and 5550 to the DVR IP on the router. I have an AverMedia EH5108H, with the network button "pressed" By typing in the IP address in the browser it is taking me to the modems configuration screen instead of the Remote Viewer screen. Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

    AverMedia Remote Viewing

If I type the IP address of the DVR, it loads the webviewer software fine on the LAN. in most cases you cant use your Wan ip from your own network. also do you have a static ip You are right, accessed it from home with the WAM IP and works perfect! Thanks for you help.

    AverMedia Remote Viewing

hi. you will also need to add the port number to the ip. so you need to type http://your ip:5550 Correct, All I'm getting is the Page Cannot be displayed error.. I'm quite confident the port forward is right, as I've done it quite a few times. When entering in my ports, do I select TCP, UDP, or both?
  14. The spare is a Coax Siamese cable with power/ground/video There are two exterior light poles I'm attaching them to the side of. Obviously there is power there but I was hoping to power from the power supply box on the backup battery where the DVR is. The Cameras are a 12v ea, IR Camera in a housing.
  15. I've had my new Avermedia DVR for a few weeks now without a problem. One day I go back into the office and all cameras have these lines going through the screen. Any ideas? Here is a link to the video of what it is doing: http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee267/8100Power/?action=view&current=3ed8c647.mp4

  17. Hi, I'm ordering a new AVerMedia EH5108H and I'm getting my own Western Digital "Black" Hard drive. To confirm, is something like this fine? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001GQYYSG/ref=ord_cart_shr?tag=gpse-20&ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER Also, do I need the SATA and power cables for the hard drive?
  18. I'm currently looking to replace my Merit Li Lin DVR 8ch right now. Long story(requires a different thread), but I'm looking for another 8ch or possibly just getting a 16ch if the price difference isn't to bad. So far, I have found these two: [edit by mod-store links removed, plz post details only or manufacturer link] I have 1 PTZ, and 4 other Standard IR Supercircuit brand cameras. Suggestions, or other product options? Thanks!

    Purchasing a New DVR

Thanks, I will admit I'm not wanting a "cheap" product. As far as IP Cameras, they are a little out of my reach right now from what I know about them. (Rerouting all of my Cabling, and buying the New Cameras). I see my links got edited, I assume this site has vendors? If so I apologize, wasn't aware of that, and on that point I would be happy to take price quotes from a few suggestion from members or vendors.

    Wet Camera. Questions

I have a camera that got wet at my office. I turned it off and opened it up for it to dry out. I now have hooked it back up. But, no picture. I know the camera is probably fried. But, is their anything I can do with it? Repair? I'm open to suggestions! Jeffrey
  21. Hi, Me and my friend are putting a 4 Camera System in his restaurant. The 4 will be montioring his back kitchen door, front door, bar area, and another door. The problem is the light will be dimmed at night. Would a IR camera be good for this situation? Thanks for any help you can give me!
