    Weird digisite!

Ummm... you also Gotta Stop and turn your damn CAPS LOCK off before going any further.
  5. Tiger is where I got the bulk of my system from so far. ASUS P5WD2 MB, CPU, and 300GB HD's.
  6. The issue I be talkin bout is a 'jumping ahead' type jerky motion when recording (or simply viewing at the console) in 30fps @ 640x480. I have seen this with our GeoVision system. I also noticed the exact same issue on a sample clip from a member here with a Video Insight system. And now simyf seems to describe something similar with I-view. I should have went for the Dell PowerEdge 1800 w/Dual Xeon 2.8 Processors. Dell Canada dropped their price even more. I would have saved quite a bit by going that route. Oh well.
  7. How smooth I be wanting it... smooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooth. Yes, I am a fussy mutha, but when spending 3k on a PC Based DVR... I do not expect to have a jerky 30fps @ 640x480+ DVR card when I only will have prob 1 or 2 cameras. If this jerkiness issue is simply related to a PC limitation, or just a matter of tweaking the PC to correct it... then fine I can deal with that. But if this is some issue not PC related but instead DVR card related regardless of the PC, tweaks, etc... I will be annoyed.
  8. Same as the one I uploaded... played back on my PC anyway. Same 'properties' as well. I want to see some smooooth 30fps @ 640 x 480 from these I-view cards. Can't this be done Herm?
  9. ok then... Jeep.Avi it shall bee. http://216.185.66.21/images/cctv/rory/
  10. ok, I am going to upload gardener.Avi (which says 15fps @ 640x480 in my properties)... then you can download it and see if it be smooth 30fps @ 640x480.
  11. Plus... I seen you I-View vids... definitely not smooth to me, or just 15fps (yeah yeah I know). Even MJ would say damn that is not smooooth enough.
  12. How so? It is a decent Panasonic camera and was installed by a supposedly professional company/installer. IMO, this jerky issue is either some PC limitation (533 Bus?)... or a well known issue that manufacturers are keeping in the closet. I am beginning to think the latter.
  13. No... but I highly doubt it will jerky beefin all over.
  14. Damn... I am thinking of selling this brand new DVR computer I be building and going with a March Networks 3108 wall mountable DVR. This PC DVR jerkin issue really be annoying.
  15. I doubt changing to ATI will make a diff... we had a ATI Radeon 9500 Pro installed before the Nvdia video card. Exact same issue.
  16. Does it have the same jerky/not smooth motion in Live View when not recording?
  17. Interesting. We have basically the same system (and same issue on our GeoVision GV800-4 card with only 1 cam @ 640x480)... P4 2.4GHz 533 Bus w/1GB RAM, GeForce MX4000 128MB, ASUS P4PE MB.
  18. Anyone used these? I am wondering if it is worth to have say a 10k 36GB Raptor (although a little small in size) as the Primary HD, and have regular 7200 RPM SATA's for storage... or just 7200's all around. There is also the Seagate HD's w/NCQ (7200.8?) which looks decent. Pros/Cons? Thx.

    WD Raptor 10k SATA HD

Personally I like how the Emerald City folk do it. Get up at 12 and start to work at 1. An hour for lunch, and then at 2 their done. Jolly good fun!

Guess you not be really into building computers then Zalman makes cooling and quiet computer products. I just picked up one of their big ass 120mm copper CPU fans. It is very big and heavy. http://www.zalmanusa.com/usa/product/view.asp?idx=145&code=009

US store. Sure, there is plenty of crappy generic RAM from local computer stores, that is not what I wanted though. The last DDR RAM I picked up at a local store was Azenram or something, and one didn't work properly. I never buy RAM locally again unless they carry a brand such as Crucial, OCZ, or Corsair.
