It's a Dell PowerEdge 1800 That's one of em anyway. I am looking at Intel MB's as well and perhaps building a Dual Xeon server.

Any make/model recommendations with PCI-X, PCI-E, and SATA/SCSI? Intel? ASUS?

I am thinking of adding something like this to our GV800 setup at work. I want to have at least 2 monitors (this does up to 4) for remote viewing in the office. This is mainly for the staff members who buzz ppl in, and myself who is responsible for security... since we will be adding more cams in and out. We currently use AIPHONE's (built-in cam, doorbell, door striker release) but I want better image quality. I will be adding a dome cam of some sort eventually as well to face the lobby door. I do not want to go with the Real Time Display GEO card however. I want to bypass the PC for live viewing. http://www.panasonic.ca/english/Broadcast/security/matrix/matrix/wjsx150.asp Would something like this Matrix unit work? I see there are Video Outputs... I assume those would just connect into the BNC inputs of the GEO card? Thx. Actually looks like it would it would need an add-on card for MUX capabilities. Oh well. ... or what bout this Data Multiplex unit below? http://www.panasonic.ca/english/Broadcast/security/matrix/multiplexers/wjmp204c.asp

Interesting. I have a similar prob with our GV800 at work, some icons and features not clickable at all anymore. Prob the same programmer for both.

Perhaps the BNC cable itself or interference? Not sure. -
Anyone here using the VJ series DVR card (other than VST_Man ) ? Pros/Cons? Any real-time clips? What make/model motherboard do you use? 32 or 64 bit? PCI-X slots?

What is the monitor refresh rate at? What type of monitor? Right click on Desktop -> Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Monitor... try increasing the rate from the drop-down list if there are higher options than your current one. -

Any sites with end-user pricing in Canada, and US perhaps? Also, what is the model of the 4-channel 120fps? Thx.

I have seen stuff like this in the Dell forums and it is generally looked down upon when someone asks how to defeat the BIOS password(s) in laptops. I would say the best thing to do is call Toshiba for help and be prepared to prove you are the owner of it.

Thanks for the info. Curious... how secure is Video Insight with the Web/SQL server, etc.? Any plain text issues also?

I see they are claiming 720x240 and 720x480 in v7+ software. I am wondering what 720x240 @ 30fps looks like and if it is actually smooth motion. I can't get smooth motion at 640x480 with our GV800-4 and 1 cam, so I am curious.

800% better? Can't wait to see it. Chips N Dongles. Don't know who to believe now, as I was told by the store we got our card from only the Dingly Dongle was required.
