That 640x480 quality option has been there for a while now. I thought it was because they upgraded that S1 chip or whatever and using 6.1 software. How do you know for certain they are using 7.0 software? I was under the impression that v7 software offered 720x480 support??
-
I asked sentry about the latest v7 software. They told me it was not available yet. I am still waiting for my S1 chip to arrive. I believe the 640x480 option in the web playback interface is in v6.1 is it not?

I am told by our supplier that GV800 4xBNC card cannot be upgraded to 16 channels? Is this true? If so, why do they make BNC Extension Cards for them, and why does the card have 3 additional connectors for those Extension Cards? http://www.geovision.com.tw/002/en/product-gv800.asp

Hey I had a dream... I was being chased by criminals who who trying to shoot me for some reason. My only defence was going into a friend of the Family's large basement and grabbing his electric staple gun. He had like a several mile long extension cord. I ran down the street with it... they caught up with me... and I killed them all with the staple gun. My Glock or shotgun never fire properly or at all in any dream... but that staple gun sure worked fine.

Nooo, you were actually there?!?!? Heh, where abouts... I have it taped Fist fight... between who??

CCW would be nice here. Would enjoy carrying the Glock around BTW, anyone watch the Gun Debate a while back with NRA and IANSA? IANSA is thoroughly disgusting I must say.

Seems like perhaps they are add-on PCI Sound Cards. -

If Linux is preferred, I would recommend March Networks. I have never used them myself though, but am seriously considering one for home use. I have seen the 4410 in use... it replaced a Panasonic WJ-HD316 demo DVR, which was a surprise, as the Panasonic looked pretty amazing. They are not cheap though, not here in Canada anyway. I received a quote today of $2590 CAD for the basic 4-channel 3204 model. No front buttons at all, just an install it,, admin remotely type. http://www.marchnetworks.com/ -

All fixie, had to go to the Remote Playback section and a plugin download started autoamtically. I must have deleted the plugin somewhere along the line.

Actually, it is not my site, it a GEO reseller where we got our card from. I still cannot connect though. I have connected to it at least 30 times in the past, so perhaps they got sick of me and blocked my IP. I press Play and it keeps saying Stop after the 'Connect to server...' msg. Their outside Day/Night LiLin PTZ seems to have the best quality, plus you can play with the PTZ controls. I think it is a GV800 though, not a 600.

I am not understanding this... if U means unshielded in RG59/U, what other names are there for 'shielded'?? RG59/S? That spytown link has RG59/U, then says shielded 95%.
-
What markings/codes/etc should I be looking for? I will be getting 100ft.
-
What kind should I use then? Does it say RG59/S or similar? I was going to pick some RG59/U up tomorrow at the local store I deal with... but now I don't know.
-
No, it does not have copper braiding.

On a similar note, I also picked up some power cable from Home Depot (looks like phone cord). It is 24AWG. Is that decent enough? The run is prob around 80 feet if that. When our other cam was installed, the tech used 18AWG and the run is around 60 feet and goes outside. It is also inside a Pelco housing w/fan/heater.
