Make sure the GEO .exe file is in Start -> Programs -> Startup, otherwise nothing is going to start up by itself when you reboot. -
I have a Panasonic Dome Cam with 3 wires (Black, White, and Green/Yellow) and an ATC Frost plug in Transformer (FPS4024). I am not sure how to connect since the transformer only has 2 terminals which are not labelled at all. In the cam connections, it says White and Black are 24V AC and Green/Yellow is Ground when using 24V. Do I just connect both the Black/White to one terminal, and the Green/Yellow to the other? We had an actual installer do all this before, but I want to learn myself. Thx.

Is GEO listed in the Startup menu? Start -> Programs -> Startup -
I guess I could try Radio Shack for a 12V. I need some BNC connectors anyway. The Radio Shack's in Canada do not seem to have much though. I wanted to attempt this at the office this weekend. That way, I will not look like too much of an idiot if I break something.

No, it only has 2 terminals on the power supply, no extra grounding terminal. And when they disconnected it at the store, I am almost certain the green/yellow wire was not connected to anything. The black/white wires were all twisted, and the green/yellow was completely untouched by the looks of it.

It is a WV-CF224. Here is the info on it... under Operating Instructions. Under 'Power Connection' it says... Caution: • Be sure to connect the GND (grounding) lead of the camera and grounding terminal of the power supply when using a 24 V AC power source. Also, this ATC-Frost is the same power supply used on our WV-CP474 cam as well.

k thx. I guess I will double check at the store I purchased it from. They had it setup as a demo and when they disconnected it, the green/yellow wire was not connected to anything. However in the cam manual, it says the green/yellow wire should be connected to ground.

This is what a Pan rep told me today at their yearly sale... that their DVR's now run embedded Linux? Is this correct? If it would not surprise me if it were not, as I can honestly say I knew more about DVR's and CCTV than this particual 'rep', and I have only been into it briefly for a few months now. Perhaps he was an installer, don't know. He could not even answer simple questions like like what size HD was installed, frame rate, etc.

k thx. I was at our local yearly sale today and seen a standalone/embedded Capture 4-channel on sale for $1300 CAD. Dist is Burtek apparently. I did get a brief chance to see a March Networks 4410 in action. I will go back and thoroughly play with it though.

What are some of the computer specs you have installed where there is no issues with motion? What GV card type? 4xBNC?

Anyone have any short 30fps vids from a GEO system I can look at?

I wonder what the brokerage fees (*cough* UPS) would be if I ordered a similar DVR from the US. What if I just ask the sender (if they would even do such a thing) to declare the value as say $500 USD??
