We currently have a PC Based GV800 setup in the office. There is only 1 cam setup currently, but will be adding 3 more eventually. I currently view video remotely with a Startech KVM Switch (in the server room where DVR located) and a Remote Console Extender via CAT5 in my room. The picture quality is not the greatest, but it is good enough. The odd time I use the web interface in the office, but rarely, since I want to minimize LAN usage for CCTV viewing. I want to be able to split the 4 incoming video cables right before going into the DVR card, and run them down to a quad monitor at reception which is about 80 feet away after going through the walls and such. Would I just use simple 4 x BNC T-Connectors that come with older Network Cards (have plenty laying around from the day), or is something else required like an signal amplifier of some sort? Thx.

No. Wonder if they got rid of those stupid blinking eyes though.

What about this Panasonic Matrix Video Switcher... http://www.aacctv.com/pawjmavisw16.html http://www.nivie.com/pdf/WJ-SX150.pdf In addition, I should also be able to access the setup menu in our WV-CP474 cam remotely..

Myself, I want the bestest of the best... for the cheapest. I guess another reason is that I have never heard of Kalatel until visiting this board. I also like the CF slot option on the Sanyo. I just need to do more research before committing to any one, even Sanyo. I have never been a fan of Sanyo in general. The only thing Sanyo I have ever bought is a cordless phone, and it a POS.

What kind of switcher would I need? Any links?

Metz, Any info on the Sanyo DSR-3709 below? I cannot seem to find anything on it anywhere, manual, etc. I did receive a quote on it however, $1,000,000.00 CAD. http://www.sanyo.ca/en-CA/industrial/security/digital_video_recorders/index.cfm?productID=611

No choice - Card must work in THIS box

I imagine there are some, but I do not know of any off hand myself. Your boss sounds like mine perhaps. I had to wait for someone to get fired so I could steal their P4 workstation to use for a PC Based DVR. Luckily for me, it was someone in Senior Management who did photography/video editing on the side and needed a fast workstation. Tell yer boss to go with Dell Financial or something and get a decent Dell if that is the preferred manufacturer -
Aside from using the GEO Real-Time Display Card, baluns with 4 separate coax, T-Connectors... what are other options? A MUX or Dist. Amplifier? I would have up to 4 camera inputs and 2 monitors. If a MUX or Amp, what kind would I need? In that case, I can just get Monitors with single BNC inputs? I want to get the clearest possible unmolested picture w/o having to go through the PC first. Thx. Here be my pretty diagram of what i would like to do. Don't laugh, only took less than a min in MS Paint. Just looking at that, I am assuming it won't work with an amp because each input on the GEO card would have 4 images displayed? Ok, what bout dis one below...

Seems to be the same as ATV below? Anyone know who the OEM is? http://www.atvideo.com/Products/FalconDV/fa4-120.htm Any ATV 4-channel demos anywhere?

Troubleshooting GV800-16
G22 replied to fdan4817's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Well in my case, one word... MANAGEMENT. It is hard to convince them to invest in a decent CCTV system when we have not been broken into... yet. I had to buy the our first damn camera... myself! -
Troubleshooting GV800-16

What do you mean the computer can't handle it? that spec seems perfect for a gv800 The motion is constantly jerking, and for some weird reason... the setting/icon/button to change the frame rate is no longer clickable, so I cannot decrease it to 15fps or lower. It was at 30fps when set initially. Plus the computer crashes once in a while, every few weeks or so. The resources are always at 85%+ and nothing else is running... ok except for Norton. Since I blocked all GEO ports on our Cisco router (except for my specific IP)... I guess I can disable Norton. -
Troubleshooting GV800-16

Agreed, way too low. 1MHz??. I would say more like 1GHz. You need more RAM also. It might work as mentioned, but dont be surprised if you have lots o problems. Definitely, the integrated Video Card is going to be a problem. We have a GV800-4 running just ONE cam so far, and the computer cannot handle it. It is a P4 2.4GHz with 1.5GB DDR RAM, ASUS P4C800-E Motherboard, and 3 x 250GB HD's. We are also using a Video Card not in the GEO Video Card specs, which is an ATI Radeon 9500 Pro. -
Looks pretty good. I was not aware of SDIII. Will have to check it out some more. We have the WV-CP474 and a WV-BP334 B/W cam and they are decent.

Whenever I build my BUBBADVR T1000 line, I sell at the best prices anywhere.

Here is the only response I have received so far (from a CDN dealer) when I asked about the 3204... "Ballpark range is between $2350 and $4000. This is a very industrial unit not normally used for home applications, but it will do the job just fine and last for a decade. We also have other lower end DVR units from Dimerge starting at $1000.00 with 120GB drive" Prices are always higher here in Canada for some reason though.

They be the same correct? The DVR's from this place below called Navco look identical. http://www.navco.com/products/index.asp The one below for example is same as the StoreSafe. http://www.navco.com/products/recorders/8510.asp

The store I get most of my CCTV stuff from (Hills TV/Audio) sells their products. Perhaps I can get some more info from them... they are having their yearly sale next week. They may even have some used ones to demo. They are mostly a Panasonic dealer though.
